Casale Il Colombaio is located in a beautiful rural setting, with interesting villages to explore nearby for those who want to get off the beaten track. We stayed at the Villa to celebrate my wife's birthday. Prior to the visit I called the Villa and explained our celebration and requested the best room available for the rate paid. To their great credit we found ourselves upgraded to a beautiful suite with a complimentary bottle of chianti classico and a happy birthday note.
However it was late November and there was only one other couple staying.

Beautiful setting and an excellent, friendly staff, who did not let a power failure (due to a storm) knock them off stride, instead serving a wonderful dinner by candlelight before the power came back.
