Venice Hotels

Lovely renovated hotel in old building steps from vaporetto stop. The hotel has been renovated recently and has a very charming and colorful lounge where the excellent breakfast is served. The room was small but comfortable, some rooms with view. There is a lift. The staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurants are nearby. The hotel is only 2 stops from Ferrovia vaporetto stop. - Alan

This hotel has an excellent location in Venezia, we spent there only one night, but it was very convenient. The room was decorated in a typical venetian style , very ornate and rich looking , the bathroom was excelent, modern , it had a jacuzzi, which we enjoyed very much, very confortable, spacious, place. Breakfast was served also in a very elegant place, a very enjoyable atmosphere. When we arrived our lugagge was kept until it was time to check in, which was very nice of them. A little pricey put if you're traveling by train the location is great! Comfortable, air-conditioned rooms with a well appointed bathrooms. Our rooms really didn't have a view but that wasn't a problem for us. The breakfast deck right on the Grand Canal is wonderful (if you get there early enough to get a seat!). Convenient hotel safe in room. Only thing missing was a small fridge in the room. - Lesley

Great and helpful staff, we had a very warm welcome. It was like home! My daughters and I had a wonderful stay in one of the Grimaldi Apartments. The name of it was Lionello. It was very equipped and comfortable, it was located in a quiet area but at the meantime central(at about 6 min. by walking from Rialto's Bridge and about 12 min. by walking from St. Mark's Square). Close by there was Santa Sofia Traghetto, where (for 0,50 €) a gondola took us on the other side of the Grand Canal and there - Darren

Housed in a restored 18th century palace on a quiet canal in the Castello sestiere, this is a small, efficiently run hotel that delivered on all levels. The American breakfast was tasty and plentiful, the room spacious (a serious consideration in Venice where space is at a premium) and nicely decorated and the desk clerks extremely helpful. The hotel was ideally located because we wanted to be within walking distance of the Piazza San Marco (five minutes) but away from the noise and crowds. The - Ian

From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly and helpful - offering every assistance with what to see, where to go and how to get there. They gave us a very well designed pocket map and a booklet showing main attracions. The hotel was very clean our room was spotless. But don't expect a large room at least our room was tiny. It was really small for two so did our bed. I am 175 cm length and my feet laid outside the bed. We found the location perfect, and enjoyed walking around Venice - Li

This hotel is small, but the rooms are nicely appointed with lovely furnishings, nice private bathrooms, and comfortable beds. It is relatively new, and the staff was efficient and friendly. They all spoke English and were able to answer any questions. This hotel is right between the Rialto Bridge area and San Marco Square, so we wer able to access all areas of the city within a short time on foot. - Andrew

The best part of Domus Cavanis is the location. It's so close to the vaperetto stop, bridge, and museums and tons of other sights and restaurants. The only part that bothered me was the front desk situation because even though the front desk at the larger hotel (same owners) across the street was very helpful and had 24 hr. reception, it was a little scary at times walking through the dimly lit, empty lobby area at the hotel. We loved our introduction to Venice -- we had a lovely rose-and-gilt room overlooking a side canal and the Apostoli Square. We felt truly "Venetian" as we watched the gondolas pass under our window. This hotel is tucked away from the larger hotels and crowds of the San Marco Square area, yet it is easy to walk to any place of interest and is close to a vaporetto stop should you tire. You won't feel like such a tourist, even though you can luxuriate in an air-conditioned room! - Michael
