Bologna Hotels

Just returned from a week's stay at this hotel and was most impressed with everything about it. It is by far the cleanest hotel I have stayed in with daily change of linen and towels. The immense bed was fantastically comfortable and the air conditioning the quietest ever encountered so a great night's sleep was assured. Breakfasts very good and plenty of choice for all tastes although would have liked fresh fruit juices and fruit salad rather than packet and tinned but that's nit-picking. High - Penelope

This hotel is situated right in the heart of Bologna. Staff were very helpful, room was clean and large, bathroom was clean even if old. - Michelle

We were pleasantly surprised by this Hotel...the rooms were nice and spacious, up to date, extremely clean and pleasantly modern. The Restaurant meals were unbelievable, from the abundant buffet breakfast(included in your tarrif) to the sumptious evening meals. I would recommend this Hotel to ANYONE. - Natalie

This is a lovely clean hotel where the staff were so firendly and pleasant. My friend and I are just back from a three night stay here which cost an unbelievable 100 euros for three nights for both of us. It is a very clean hotel and doesn't look tired at all. It is in the centre of the commercial district outwith Bolognas ringroad so has many great shops directly opposite (Pittarello shoes - shoe heaven!!). However the downsides are that it it some distance to town and there are few buses. By d - Zoe

Travelled here earlier this month - nice location around 15min walk into the centre of the town and the main square. Staff were very polite and helpful and spoke good english, room was comfortable and extremely clean. Breakfast was very nice - hot food as well as the usual basics. Was little worried about possible noise being by a main-ish route and other reviews, but our room was totally silent at night and we slept extremely well. Arrivied at Bologna Airport early morning and took a cab to the hotel: metered so no scams. Bologna is a student city and the day we arrived the students were revolting and marching en mass to the centre of town, blocking the way to the hotel. Taxi driver navigated narrow alleys to get us to a pedestrianised piazza in the centre of town, where the hotel is situated. I stay in Bologna regularly for business and have had the opportunity to stay in this hotel three times. It is a quite and peaceful location in the San Donato area of Bologna. Very clean and friendly with an excellent breakfast. I enjoy the tranquility and the more "country home" atmosphere of the hotel. Internet is available in the lobby and one of the hotel buildings has wireless internet in it but it is not always working. There is a major city bus line that passes in front of the h - Rupert

My husband and I and our two children aged 11 and 8 and my friends with 3 children aged 6, 5 & 3 stayed in this hotel for one night at the end of July to kick off a 2 week holiday to Italy. We also stayed there again for 1 night at the end of our holiday. We chose this hotel because of the reviews and its proximity to the airport and also because it had a pool area. I have spent ten days in Italy for my honeymoon, visiting Florence, Rome and Bologna. Bologna has really been the most wonderful surprise of my trip and the Grand Hotel Baglioni the best hotel . I have found the city great, unexpectdely rich in culture and atmosphere. I suggets to everyone to visit it and if you go, don't stay anywhere else but in this hotel. Great valued Hotel, incredibly friendly staff going out of their way to satisfy any guest requests, well I had to tip them as well. The restaurant is great and the food incredible! Great surround upstarirs with the Bar-Restaurant and terrace , park view! Would definitively go back with the dinner break again! - Patrick

like others have said hard to fault anything here quirky design but clean comfortable great bed flat screen Tv with 45 (or more) channels. I picked this one due to its location near the station for easy arrival and next day departure by aerobus--runs every 15 mins or so. A 15-20 minute stroll takes you into Centre of City. I was a bit disappointed in Bologna but I am comparing it to Verona which is excellent in many many ways. We also only had an afternoon and an evening to explore so I can't cr - Mohamed

It was across the street from the train station which brought in a lot of transient people and urine smelling streets. It was a little difficult finding the hotel when driving and also parking wasn't convenient. For the price the room was adequate and large with great air conditioning. - Eifion
