Pisa Hotels

We ended up staying in this hotel in Pisa purely because the only flight we could get for our Tuscany holiday was a late arrival into Pisa. Both the hotel and the city were a pleasant surprise. The hotel location is not the most central but is only a 20 min stroll or so from the centre of the city and 10 mins from the leaning tower. The rooms are very nice and the staff attentive. We arrived well before the usual check-in time, because of flight schedules. We were warmly welcomed and allowed to leave our luggage. Later we were shown to a spotless and wonderfully comfortable room. It had everything we needed including a comfortable bed. We were given a map of the city and helpful advise on where the sights, station etc. were located. We talked through possible days out and received accurate and helpful guidance. This hotel is just what you expect from a large corporate hotel. It was immaculate, nicely designed (lovely bathroom), with even a free mini bar (no alcohol I'm afraid!). Breakfast had a wide variety of options, unlike other hotels in Italy. I wouldn't recommend for people staying in Pisa for a few nights as it is away from the centre but ideal if you arrive late at the airport or are leaving early. - Manuel

This was a really nice hotel, was located in an area that looked a bit drab though! Room was a comfortable size, although the window looked out into the wall of the building, so the views weren't too great, and the bathroom window opened into another person's room! Bathroom was pretty big and spacious which was a plus. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It's in a rennovated palace, beautifully designed with lovely amenities (free tea and cakes, drinks in the late afternoon). Staff is delightful: gracious and helpful. The only downside is that the rooms are a bit small, compared to those in the U.S. A lovely place. I would stay again. - Rami

this hotel was great. the staff was very helpful. we got there very early in the morning from a long drive from germany. the room was spotless. they had free wireless internet. breakfast was good. we stayed there because we were going to spend the day at the Leaning tower of Pisa. The only negative, not really a negative was that when we got there, the hotel seemed to be in a dark part of town close to the Galilei airport. Other than that, this was a great stay. - Allan

I would like to say that as a single woman traveller, I stayed at Hotel La Pace for 7 nights. I felt very safe in the hands of Hotel La Pace and it's staff. Although the hotel is a little dated, it has a unique style all of its own, which I really liked, It had warmth and character, at an easy going pace. The staff were very kind and helpful in every way. The receptionists could not do enough for me. They gave me all the information I required and even printed off the train times for me. This is an amazing B&B recommended to me by colleagues at the Istituto per lo studio degli ecosistemi. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and instantly made me feel at home. The building isn’t much to look at from the outside but the interior is beautiful with marble floors, walls and staircase. The room was hotel-quality. I am surprised with negative reviews on this hotel. By choosing to stay in Terminus you are choosing to stay in the middle of it all. And this doesn't mean you have to loose on customer service or comfort. Rooms are clean and housekeeping is doing their job every day. Breakfast is generous, you'll never find this kind of breakfast offered in the same type of American hotel where usually it's just dry cereal and cold milk. And excuse me but for the money you pay what else to ask for?? - Jason

The hotel has been refurbished and re-branded since our last stay in 2007, but was just as good as before. If anything, the NH take-over has meant some investment has taken place. We stayed for one night before we headed off to Florence, and found all our favourite haunts in the city were still open. Pisa is small enough to visit in one day, but when you stay overnight you get to mix with the locals. The further away from the railway station you walk, the more traditional the city gets, with - Patrick
