What people say
The location of this hotel was superb, only minutes from St Mark's Square. It was very clean overall and the room was very nicely decorated, very comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast was excellent with plenty to eat, lots of variety in a delightful breakfast room. I would certainly recommend this hotel and if I visit Venice again I will definitely choose to stay there-without a doubt. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and efficient and quick to make recommendations when asked. The hotel is quite centrally located for all that Venice has to offer. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Quiet, clean, and the breakfast is served in a beautiful room. Grazie!. all reviews »
The location of the Centauro Hotel is ideal, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I've stayed in Venice many times, and this was one of the best lodging arrangements I've had. Great location but a bit tough to find-down a narrow alleyway. Just luckily we came upon it.Perfect hotel, very friendly service and great location and rooms. beautiful river view, nice room decoration, reasonable price. The rooftop garden was very enjoyable for breakfast, and also in the evening for a snack or drink. top location in the centre of Venice. very nice rooms. The hotel is perfectly centered ... 5.mins from St. Mark's and 3mins. from Rialto. Staff, especially Giuli, were very helpful and friendly...breakfast was grand. Rooms were spotless . It was very central for Rialto, St Marks and La Fenice. It had very knowledgable staff speaking several languages, rooms were very pretty and comfortable. Clean towels every day.Very nice people. the rooms are very clean and nice. very good breakfast. Good location, clean nice hotel, nice staff. It is quiet, very clean and pleasant. The hotel was hidden away a bit and the directions and address by LetsBookHotel.com was useless and meant i had to call the hotel on my cell phone making an international call which in the scheme of things is unnecessary. But the hotel itself was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. Mine was a single room which was very small, but really cosy and clean. We liked the fact that the rooms were warm, plenty of hot water and the rooms were cleaned to a very high standard each day Breakfast was enjoyable and plentiful. Staff were friendly and glad to answer any questions that we had. Great base for exploring Venice. The breakfast was particularly good, and the staff were exceedingly helpful - although I checked out in the morning, I was able to leave a bag and collect it later in the day.Excellent location, friendly staff, clean, comfortable, and excellent value in Venice. Location, friendly and helpful staff, air conditioning. The breakfast that was including was very good. Friendly, anglophone staff, willing to help out with maps etc. Room was clean.Bathroom was very nice. Breakfast was quite good.
Despite the dislikes it was still a good hotel and convenient for most locations. Very good location, nice room with a canal view. Nice staff, good breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is in a very central location. unique character, cleaness, look of the room, location of the hotel. The location is fantastic. the room is clean. It was in Venice. cutness of hotel. The location. the location is good. Only its proximity to Venice attractions. The room we were in was a little dated but hey, it's Venice. It's a small place and there isn't much room anywhere. Enjoy the charm! I'd definitely return!!. location is a bit difficult to find. The room we had booked (with a separate private WC /shower) was not what we expected... very small and the facility was at the other end of the corridor, but upon request we were mooved to another room much bigger and with WC/shower...but an extra E20 per night.Breakfasts could have been better. Rolls were a little stale, coffee and fruit juices so watered down there was little taste to them and there could have been more fruit. i booked a double bedroom. i really don't like a doublebed with 2 mattress instead of 1.Bed was unconfortable. breakfast could have been better. the bread rolls were stale.Fresh fruit could have been chnaged on a daily basis... There is no elevator. Our room was located in the third floor and you must carry your luggage all the way up. Each floor is way higher than any normal floor. No elevator. No elevator, or lift made it really difficult with our luggage. The water in the shower was cold, the breakfast was what you expect from a 40 euro /night hotel: watery juice, small selection of bread. Yoghurt and cereals were ok, though. Also, the bed was quite small for a 1.85meter Dutchie. Difficult to find. No lift - please get one. A bigger TV in the room. Double bed had 2 mattresses which kept moving apart - uncomfortable and old fashioned.
Every morning we were woken up by the noise of the trash compactor on the canal outside the hotel. The breakfast needs improvement. Although the time is until 10:00 am, most of the stuff was over at 9:00. The bread was over. The quality of bread offered was very poor. There were hardly any fruits. the location is not very nice, it took so much time from Plasa St Marco to find it with the map of venice. when you chose rooms with private washroom, it's nice. otherwise you will have to share washroom with others. the breakfast time is 8 o'colock, a bit latter. It is a bit difficult to find. As are a lot of hotels in Venice. Also, I reserved a room with a Canal View, but got put on the opposite side of the building with NO view whatsoever (only the back of another building). size of room and no double bed. Yes, noise until 3.30 AM by other guests. Needed to go to the reception to get security. Heating was inadequate. Bathroom had unpleasant smell from drain in floor. Bedding inadequate and blankets quite old. Buffet breakfast skimpy. The hotel was very difficult to locate even by Venice reckoning anddirections offered by hotel were very poor. The hotel does not caterwell for the lone traveller. My room was very small - even for a singleand strangely the separate shower room (across the corridor) did nothave a toilet and I had to use a common facility off the restaurant. the room is very small. The stay at this hotel was a bad experience. The room was small with one window looking out to a wall. The bathroom was cramped with only a shower cubicle that was so small as to make it almost impossible to bend to pick up any item from the base. The flow from the shower head was poor and inadequate and on day one the water was cold to luke warm. There was no lift, and luggage had to be carried u.

Information about the area
The Centauro Hotel is in an extremely strategic position: Right in the historic center, a couple of steps from the Great La Fenice Theatre and 5 minutes on foot from At, Mark's Square, where you can admire the architectural masterpieces like the Ducal Palace and St. Mark's Basilisk.
This prestigious three star hotel in Venice is the ideal base from which to visit the city: It will take you only a few minutes to reach all the main places of artistic and cultural interest... the Rialto Bridge, one of the symbols of Venice, the Galleria dell'Accademia, where the works of the famous Venetian painters of the 1700s are kept, Palazzo Grassi, where exhibitions of an international level are periodically organized. Not far from the Hotel there is also the prestigious Calle Larga XXII March and the ancient Mercerie: a real paradise for shopping lovers who will find the most luxurious names of Italian and international fashion design.
The Hotel's guests also have the good luck to stay right in front of one of the most fascinating sights of Venice: the Scala Contarini del Bovolo, an architectural masterpiece, between Gothic and Renaissance, composed of a cylindrical tower with open arches and a series of lodges one above the other with a spiral staircase (in Venetian dialect "bovolo") winding up to reach the sky.

All rooms are equipped with modern facilities and comforts.
