The hotel staff were simply magnificent and were always looking to help us with, for example, directions for days out of Florence, booking train tickets to Rome and restaurant reservations. The service in the restaurant was excellent and the serving of drinks and aperitivo in the library was a nice touch..

The centre is a 20 minute walk away, but the walk down the river (past a number of good cafe's etc) is worth the effort.
