  We were treated like royalty... the owners of the hotel, a family, helped us with all our tourism questions, they accomodated all our needs, and then offered even more! Our stay could not have been any better. They made us feel like part of their family! It was just wonderful! From talking with other businesses around town that Tramonto D'Oro h... what people say » as a great reputation around the towns. - We were greeted at the door with open arms and treated like family during our too short stay. The room was lovely and the view breathtaking! The rooftop pool was truly an oasis! The parking was an unexpected blessing after driving the Amalfi and seeing how scarce it is. The matriarch warmly shook hands with us as we departed. I hope to return some day. lovely breakfast, too!!

  Antonietta and Giovanna were the perfect hosts from start to finish. Their staff including Nico, Diego and Paulo were always very polite, pleasant and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for Antonietta, Giovanna and their staff!! The hotel looks great and our room was clean and a good size with a patio area leading to the garden. All in all, Orsa Maggiore is a beautiful hotel with excellent owners and - Orsa Maggiore was a beautiful stop for us on our honeymoon. I would request a room Oceanside (beautiful sunsets). The rooms are clean and pretty, but here, you are paying for the views and a great design of a pool area! The staff are also all very nice and helpful! They made good dinner recommendations and always offered to shuttle you around the island (this is quite helpful if you know Capri) and the wifi connection is good. Also-the free breakfast is plentiful!

  Hotel was in an excellent location, really central but not noisy. We had a room with a terrace which overlooked the pool. It was really nice; it was a bit cool to use the pool but if you did it would be nice to retreat to your private terrace; might be noisy in the room though if the pool was busy; a minor concern though.The room also contained a ... what people say » porch and settee area. There was a nice range of breakfast fare. - The hotel itself was beautiful, clean and nicely landscaped...we used the pool and it was fantastic, a nice place to get away from the crowds. (and trust me, there are massive crowds during the day when the cruise ships come to town....) Our room (212) was huge with a nice balcony overlooking the gardens. The hotel was in a good location, just a quick walk from the main piazza. Breakfast was good, lots of choices.

  I enjoyed the beautiful roof garden with a spectacular view of Mt. Vesuvius and the town's cathedral. I especially enjoyed the 19th century elegance with modern conveniences.   My wife and I travelled to this hotel for a night on our honeymoon. It was better than we could have imagined. The reason we chose this hotel was because of the brilliant reviews of the restaurant Taverna Del Capitano ( a michelin star restaurant) that is below the hotel.   When you arrive at the hotel, the first thing you notice is the courtyard with comfortable seating, quite a contrast from the street, quiet and welcoming. The next thing is the welcome, the receptionist was excellent, very good english and nothing was too much trouble, her local knowledge of the area and restaurants was very helpful. The staff were very helpful and went out of their wayto do anything we needed. There are many outstanding places to eat within walking distance and shops to visit. If traveling by the local train from Naples use the station by the church to exit, it is by the church. We would stay here again.
