  I agree with the person who asked whether they had stayed at the same hotel as many of the other reviewers. Having read the reviews, I expected something like the house in the Addams Family. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. True the carpet and furnishings were probably not installed yesterday but they did not look particularly worn to ... what people say » me. The lobby was comfortable, the staff were helpful, the room was neat, and the price and location were unbeatable. It's not the place for a romanti - Historical nature of building; space in rooms (much larger than most hotel rooms in Italy, extremely spacious bathroom); nice paintings and furnishings; large lobby; free wifi; helpfulness of staff; reasonable (but not exceptional) breakfast (fresh fruit would be nice)

  The Hotel was just about perfect, from the location, 20Metres or so off the main drag to our room being very quiet, the room was large and spacious , with a free fridge and small safe (again free of charge ) big enough for a small lap top. The bed was very, very comfortable (subjective I know ) with good quality linen and pillows plus spares. Also... what people say » supplied was a towelling robe and toiletries. Breakfast was as good as any I have had in Italy and better than most, so no complaints there. All in a - The Hotel Cavour was perfect for staying in Bologna. Only five minutes walk from the centre and ten minutes to the station. It was exceptionally clean, the staff were helpful and the breakfast each day was amazing - cereals, ham, cheese, pastries, juices, tea, coffee etc etc. Room was large with air conditioning and the bathroom was fine. Would stay there again.
