Vienna Guest accommodation

Room was decent and clean. Day and evening staff (Ina and Denise) were really helpful and friendly. Weekend staff not so much. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The room was very large by European standards. Old building, no air conditioning. Noise from the street was a problem since we needed the windows open. You might want to ask for a room not facing the street. Great location just 10 minutes or so from Rathaus. Most sights were within walkable distance. Tickets for public transit, if nee - Victor

This is a perfectly located property! We loved the updated rooms (very modern) and the hospitality of our hosts. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast included hard boited eggs, fine Viennese pastries, awesome coffee, breads and jams and the like. Great value for the money! Only complaints: 1) loud outside 2) owners smoke and you can smell this in common area (not in your rooms) 3) plumbing needs updating (cold/hot water zaps). - Damian

After reading reviews, we chose the Pension Pharmador as we needed WIFI and parking. The room was quite large, the morning breakfast was great, and we are walkers, so the location was no problem. The staff at the pension were very helpful and gracious. I give this place a two thumbs up; solid, clean, comfortable, value. - Alec

I stayed at the Pernsion Andreas for a week in Sept. 2005. I reached the hotel by taxi from the City Airport train station (roughly 10 Euros), but one can also take the U-Bahn (one transfer) and get within several blocks. The pension is on a quite side street behind the Rathaus. Two Strassenbahn lines are within a couple blocks from the pension, one of which will take you to the Ring. Yes, there's massive construction the main street outside. But, in my sweet little room facing the courtyard, I never noticed any noise. The staff are so warm, friendly, and helpful -- they were great about giving me adivce on places to visit and making reservations for me. My room was pretty, superbly clean, and the bed was really comfortable. I stayed in late May/early June, and the temperature wasn't a problem. My room had really large windows that opened to a lovely breeze, too. Other review - Shirley

The plus for this Pension is it's location: it is about 5 minutes of walk to 1st district of Vienna (city center) and is easy to reach it (OK, I have lived in Vienna for 2,5 years, but anyway...). Also, rooms are quite nice, and everybody is very friendly, no comment at all. However, what I didn't like is the breakfast which was buffet style, but very limited: some salamy, chease, cornflakes, butter and jam, but quantities were very limited. Very nice rooms in a perfect location very close to the center. Good service, friendly stuff. Big rooms, modern, very clean, with bathroom, everything you need. We took it without breakfast, but it also looked fine. The only thing to critizise could be the entrance area (old building, elevator was removed, looked strange) but as soon as you enter the hotel door, you find yourself in a renovated and nice area. - Marlof

Cosy hotel. Staff very kindly. Rooms average in size. Old-fashioned furnishing. But sufficient. Price corresponding to location and quality of accommodation. Breakfast continental. The hotel is located ten minutes walk from the historical centre of Vienna on Mariahilferstrasse - it is the main disadvantage of the hotel - most of its rooms are located towards the street (the building is in Art Nouveau Style) - the windows are wooden - so they do not soften the noise from the outside at all. - Roger
