Our stay at the Mercure was very nice. We were in Room 420 which is very large and has a good view. The breakfast were very satisfying with all kinds of options including freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff was wonderful-so sweet and helpful. Special mention should be made for Ms. Cruz who has a cheerful attitude and bubbly personality. The location is close to all the museums and the downtown shopping areas. I did a lot of research before choosing this hotel as my requirements were pretty daunting. I needed to find accomodation in the centre of Vienna, suitable for my family for a full week while I dodged off to do business. What can I say? It was just the ticket. Billed as a three star, I would categorise this as a decent 4 star. I took a suite which comprosed of two interconnecting rooms plus 2 bathrooms and lounge area. For my first trip to Vienna, I was very happy with the Le Méridien. The location is perfect: on the Ring, opposite the Opera House, very close to the shops of Kärtnerstraße, and very near the Karlsplatz U-Bahn station, which provided direct access to the Messe Wien convention centre. The front lobby and the rooms are very chic and modern, but not so much so that you feel out of place if you're over 25! (As, for example, in a W Hotel.) Two friends and I stayed here for one night on an all too brief stop in Vienna on our way from Salzburg to Budapest. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is lovely, the room was a good size and clean. The bathroom was superclean with nice fluffy towels. The included breakfast was nice, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. In fact they were almost too nice- two of us tried to "lose" our bicycle helmets which we were having trouble fitting in our suitcases and wanted to dump, - Allan

We stayed in the Bristol for one night using free weekend awards, meaning I paid nothing and so I expected a small room as they didn't make bid money with me and the city was booked. We checked in after two nights at the Imperal hotel, the sister hotel, also part of the Luxury collection. What a fabulous hotel! My husband and I stayed at the Ring during our 5 night stay in Vienna and it made our trip so incredibly special. When making the reservation, my husband mentioned that I am pregnant and upon check-in, I was told that the hotel would be treating me to a complimentary prenatal massage! We also received a complimentary upgrade to the X-Ordinary room which was gorgeous, spacious and immaculate with a beautiful view to the Ringstrasse. Simple but very good hotel. Very clean apartment, simple breakfast, friendly staff. The location is good - 7 min. walking to the main subway station and 12 min. to downtown/Hofburg. Good value for the money. - Alexander

Based in a fabulously central location. in Vienna. The concierge were very helpful and friendly guiding us to restaurants that were fun, buzzy and good food. Our room...a double ensuite was DIVINE. We had a lovely area to in the room to have a drink before going out and the most GORGEOUS bathroom....huge bath and lovely modern power shower and 2 basins. The hotel provided fabulous service. Make sure you book a room that is not on the road or you will find its noisy. Breakfast was delicious. My o - James

In connection with a conference in Vienna in April 2009 my girlfriend and I found this appartment with cooking facilities through Hotel Pension Shermin Vienna. The place is called Shermin-apartments and is located only few minutes walk from Rilkeplatz on Argentinierstrasse near Karlskirche and Ubahn station Karls Platz. Great location! One needs to pick up the key and to pay at Hotel Pension Shermin. My girlfriend stayed for 3 nights and I stayed there for 8 nights alltogether. The extra pric - Susan

This is a beautiful modern boutique hotel. The staff are very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly, the rooms are extremely comfortable and clean and the food is superb. Our trip was planned for a special occasion and the staff ensured that all our special requests were met. Although the hotel is located on a main road, there is no problem with noise as the courtyard within the hotel ensures a peaceful area for eating and chilling out. Overall, an excellent choice. This is a very elegant hotel, at least for those of us who frequent 3 star hotels. We were given an upgrade to a large room on the 6th floor. As we did not stay in or see a standard room, I cannot comment on them. Our room was enormous as was the bath. It was very nicely furnished. The common areas are wonderful. There are crystal chandeliers, etched glass windows, a beautiful bar/sitting area, and the breakfast room is white linen, faux painted, high ceilinged, etc. The breakfast is the best we - John

The hotel has a fantastic location right on Kaernter Strasse ( a famous Viennese Shopping Area ) and is only a few steps from St. Stephan's Cathedral and the Hofburg. The Opera Suites Hotel features elegant and spacious rooms - we absolutely loved the bathroom! If you enjoy HD television you will truly enjoy the lightening and mirrors in the bathroom. The shower features a rain forest shower head, which is pure luxury. The towel warmer was a huge plus :) In addition the beds were extremely comf - John

The room was lovely and the breakfast buffet was varied and delicious. The pianist playing in the lobby was delightful. The hotel is very well situated close to many interesting places, and very handy for the underground. The staff were uniformly polite and very helpful, and I was particularly charmed by Mr Kirienko, the manager, who was kind enough to let me practise my German.
