Vienna Gay Friendly Hotels

This hotel is in a building that wasn't built as a hotel originally. The rooms are quite large and individually decorated with interesting touches. The staff couldn't have been more helpful--they booked tours for us and gave great restaurant recommendations, as well as making the reservations for us. The neighborhood is not in the Ringstrasse area, but is only one easy subway stop away. The neighborhood has lots of interesting boutiques and restaurants--good for strolling around. What a fabulous hotel! My husband and I stayed at the Ring during our 5 night stay in Vienna and it made our trip so incredibly special. When making the reservation, my husband mentioned that I am pregnant and upon check-in, I was told that the hotel would be treating me to a complimentary prenatal massage! We also received a complimentary upgrade to the X-Ordinary room which was gorgeous, spacious and immaculate with a beautiful view to the Ringstrasse. There is nothing not to like about Das Tyrol. It's located within walking distance of the subway and major museums; Mariahilferstrasse is a main shopping street; and the hotel is modern and lush in its appointments. Breakfast is usually included in the room price, and it's good. I used the desk staff to get concert tickets, and they did this easily. The single rooms at the lower end of the rate schedule are a bargain. My off-season rate was about $100 euros. The clientele was a mixture of busine - Anne

This is a very elegant hotel, at least for those of us who frequent 3 star hotels. We were given an upgrade to a large room on the 6th floor. As we did not stay in or see a standard room, I cannot comment on them. Our room was enormous as was the bath. It was very nicely furnished. The common areas are wonderful. There are crystal chandeliers, etched glass windows, a beautiful bar/sitting area, and the breakfast room is white linen, faux painted, high ceilinged, etc. The breakfast is the best we - John

The hotel has a fantastic location right on Kaernter Strasse ( a famous Viennese Shopping Area ) and is only a few steps from St. Stephan's Cathedral and the Hofburg. The Opera Suites Hotel features elegant and spacious rooms - we absolutely loved the bathroom! If you enjoy HD television you will truly enjoy the lightening and mirrors in the bathroom. This is a excellent hotel in the heart of Vienna! The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful and the rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast is the best I've had; incredible variety, well stocked and perfectly prepared. Ambiance is modern yet warm without feeling sterile. Price range is on the expensive side but if you are looking for simple modern luxury with an ideal location, this it it! - Andrew

This is very well run hotel, you will certainly feel treated well. From beginning to end the staff were attentive, but not obtrusive and the room was glorious. You're right in the heart of Vienna everything is at your feet. - Robert

This is a small boutique hotel with a very good location for seeing Vienna, particularly everything within the Ringstrasse. It is a 2 minute walk to St. Stephen's cathedral and the U-3 line, 10 minutes walk to the Opera, 2 minutes walk to the Trams that circle the old city, 20 minute (about 30 Euro) taxi to the airport. The hotel itself is very cool - the entrance is funky and almost hidden; the decor is very modern, theme of black & orange & wood. The service is not formal, like at a bi - Phillip

This is a perfectly located property! We loved the updated rooms (very modern) and the hospitality of our hosts. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast included hard boited eggs, fine Viennese pastries, awesome coffee, breads and jams and the like. Great value for the money! Only complaints: 1) loud outside 2) owners smoke and you can smell this in common area (not in your rooms) 3) plumbing needs updating (cold/hot water zaps). - Damian
