Hotels near Austrian National Library

Yes, there's massive construction the main street outside. But, in my sweet little room facing the courtyard, I never noticed any noise. The staff are so warm, friendly, and helpful -- they were great about giving me adivce on places to visit and making reservations for me. My room was pretty, superbly clean, and the bed was really comfortable. I stayed in late May/early June, and the temperature wasn't a problem. My room had really large windows that opened to a lovely breeze, too. Other review - Shirley

The location is great, but do NOT try to drive to this hotel – the streets of Central Vienna are beyond confusing, and we’ve done lots of driving in Europe. The hotel is right on the walking street – Karntner Strasse, near the Opera, St. Stephan’s Church and an enormous number of excellent restaurants. Our room was large, beautifully renovated, opening on a central space – so was absolutely quiet. The bathroom was huge, and the whole room was spotless. Our first time in Vienna at thisPension was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. The rooms were very clean and the breakfasts, which were included in the cost were great. There was a computer with internet access in the common area for guests to use. The Staff was very helpful with directions, side trips and suggestions for restaurants. They gave us an early breakfast on the day we had an early side trip to Salzburg. Great hotel: Rooms are huge--ceilings must be 18 feet high, washrooms impeccable, clean, friendly service. Location is great--close to shopping, restaurants, St. Stephen's, etc. Didn't try the food. A/C worked well. Stay there. You'll be glad you did. - Xin

I have just returned from the Graben hotel in Vienna& although the renovations are ongoing it did not spoil our hols. They have added a 7th floor & the rooms are first class. the location was great , within easy walking distance of most of the sights or near trams& underground stations. When finished it will be a great place ,like it's 2 sister hotels. - Nicola

This is a perfectly located property! We loved the updated rooms (very modern) and the hospitality of our hosts. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast included hard boited eggs, fine Viennese pastries, awesome coffee, breads and jams and the like. Great value for the money! Only complaints: 1) loud outside 2) owners smoke and you can smell this in common area (not in your rooms) 3) plumbing needs updating (cold/hot water zaps). - Damian

Based in a fabulously central location. in Vienna. The concierge were very helpful and friendly guiding us to restaurants that were fun, buzzy and good food. Our room...a double ensuite was DIVINE. We had a lovely area to in the room to have a drink before going out and the most GORGEOUS bathroom....huge bath and lovely modern power shower and 2 basins. The hotel provided fabulous service. Make sure you book a room that is not on the road or you will find its noisy. Breakfast was delicious. My o - James

The hotel has a fantastic location right on Kaernter Strasse ( a famous Viennese Shopping Area ) and is only a few steps from St. Stephan's Cathedral and the Hofburg. The Opera Suites Hotel features elegant and spacious rooms - we absolutely loved the bathroom! If you enjoy HD television you will truly enjoy the lightening and mirrors in the bathroom. The shower features a rain forest shower head, which is pure luxury. The towel warmer was a huge plus :) In addition the beds were extremely comf - John

We have already told so many friends about how perfect this hotel is. The location could not be any better--only a block or so from Stephansdom , within walking distance of everything in the old town, and only a few steps from the U-bahn for other sightseeing. The hotel itself is a jewel. The lobby area is welcoming, the breakfast room is lovely, and the room we stayed in (# 306--a superior room) is large with nice furnishings. For my first trip to Vienna, I was very happy with the Le Méridien. The location is perfect: on the Ring, opposite the Opera House, very close to the shops of Kärtnerstraße, and very near the Karlsplatz U-Bahn station, which provided direct access to the Messe Wien convention centre. The front lobby and the rooms are very chic and modern, but not so much so that you feel out of place if you're over 25! (As, for example, in a W Hotel.) I did a lot of research before choosing this hotel as my requirements were pretty daunting. I needed to find accomodation in the centre of Vienna, suitable for my family for a full week while I dodged off to do business. What can I say? It was just the ticket. Billed as a three star, I would categorise this as a decent 4 star. I took a suite which comprosed of two interconnecting rooms plus 2 bathrooms and lounge area. The Hotel Zur Wiener Staatsoper is very good at what it does. It is a small European hotel in the heart of Vienna. The location is excellent. Close to the Karlsplatz U-bahn (subway) and the streetcars on the Ring, it is easy to get anywhere Vienna's extensive public transit system goes. The hotel is easy walking distance from the State Opera and a number of museums and historic sites including the Albertina Museum. The central location also means that the hotel is within easy walking distanc - Patricia
