  The staff was really kind and helpfull. The place is very clean and nice, very very good for that price!! We got to use their bikes for free, so we were able to see the views in a larger area. :) Everything is just perfect at Ca Merlo! We got our breakfast waiting outside in a basket.   We stayed one night at the Hotel Bernina as we took the train from Milan to Tirano (rather than the bus) and were catching the Bernina Express the next day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone taking this trip.   We wanted to visit northern Italy, and were fortunate to choose Bianzone/Tirano area. We spent 3 blissful nights, with 3 wonderful breakfasts prepared specially by Ivana, our hostess, baking many local specialities. Our room was spacious and immaculate and the ensuite enormous. Ivana invites you to feel right at home in the shared spaces that are ... what people say » personally decorated. We found it the perfect place to enjoy many of the surrounding highlights, such as, taking the red train from Italy to St. Mori - We loved Il Grappollo. The owner Ivana was the most welcoming, helpful and gracious host. She picked us up from the station at Bianzone and dropped us off at Tirano station the next day to catch the Bernina Line to Seitzerland, a wonderful recommendation. Our room was beautiful. The bed very comfortable. Lovely en suite and the view from our balcony was spectacular, snow capped mountains and sweeping valley views. The breakfast was wonderful, the best we have had in Italy and all local produce
