  The thing that really sells this little B&B (incidentally named after the town in Motalbano!) is the welcome and sincere friendliness of the owners, Catherina and Giovanni.They have little English and our Italian is not good but we got along just fine. They are lovely people and run this B&B with love and care for their guests. The room we... what people say » had was spacious, spotlessly clean,non-smoking,with an enormous adjoining bathroom complete with mini -fridge.Decor is pastel shades and restful.Exte - I can say that after staying at Marina di Vigata that the reviews I read of how friendly and helpful the hosts are is absolutely true. Giovanni and Catherina are wonderful people. Several times I asked Giovanni where to get something (like at a hardware store), and next thing I knew, it appeared in my room. They were also very knowledgeable about good places to eat in Porto Empedocle and surroundings. I'm not sure how much English they speak (I speak Italian ok) but I'm sure they are more than

  Porto Empedocle is a good alternative to staying in Agrigento. It gives a visitor a small town experience in Sicily--very different from the cities. In the evening the whole town turns out in the cafes and the pedestrian Via Roma. Very good restaurants as well. A public bus provides easy access to the Greek temple site. It's the town where the... what people say » playwright Pirandello grew up as did the mystery novel writer Camilleri whose main character is a policeman in a town like Porto Empedocle. - B&B is located in a quiet area near the central street only 2 min on foot. The rooms are spacious and the quality of furniture is good. Clean. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff, who surprised us with pleasant  attitude and wonderful breakfast (we got ham, hot croissants, wonderful cappuccino). We liked this hotel best on our 7-day trip around Sicily. I strongly recommend to stay here.
