I was traveling with my two grand daughters and the staff went out of their way to talk to the girls and genuinely show an interest in what they had been doing and had seen in Chicago. We arrived three hours before check in but they found a room for us right away. It's very close to public transit and Amtrack. The pool was small but our kids had a great time using it.   Was comfortable and convenient. When I told them that I needed to keep my insulin cool they gave me a little refrigerator without charge. However, what kind of a hotel room does not already have a refrigerator? The one cup at a time coffee pot was great but if I had stayed in longer than an hour after getting up, more than one unit of coffee would... what people say » have been appreciated. - I liked the check in a lot: quick, friendly and professional guy.   This was the very first place I've ever booked and I was a little unsure because it was more an apartment than a hotel. I wasn't sure what floor I was going to be on or what the exact room was going to be like. Fortunately, upon arrival the room was on the 8th floor.   I really liked the location. We were able to walk to several places we wanted to visit, including the Art Institute and the Doughnut Vault. The check-in was quick and easy, and they were nice to suggest some places we should visit when asked. We enjoyed having a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, dishes & cups, coffee pot, and popcorn in the room, in addition to - I can not recommend this Marriott Residence Inn highly enough. The location, the comfort, the price, and, most appreciated, the graciousness and helpfulness of every staff member made the entire five-day stay memorable and enjoyable.
