The staff were absolutely wonderful. I was traveling with my two grand daughters and the staff went out of their way to talk to the girls and genuinely show an interest in what they had been doing and had seen in Chicago. They deserve an A+++++ The ladies serving breakfast were also very friendly and helpful. The location was great for the money. We arrived three hours before check in but they found a room for us right away. It's very close to public transit and Amtrack. The pool was small but our kids had a great time using it. The free wifi was great and the breakfast was excellent.
all reviews » It was very clean and the decor was upbeat and fun. We took the Amtrak in for the opera and it was very close to both. An easy walk to the Art Institute, Merchandise Mart, and not too far to walk to Water Tower though that takes a while. Loved this hotel. Everything about it was great. Parking was very convenient, close to everything just blocks from Millennium Park, Lyric Opera, Orchestra Hall, etc. Breakfast was excellent, lots to choose from and friendly servers. rooms were comfortable and clean. Stayed in a double with double beds and sufficient room there and in the bathroom. Only shower but large. Very cheerful and nice breakfast staff - felt like a B&B in the morning. The location was perfect, as we were able to walk to many sights, restaurants, shopping, and pubs for St. Patrick's Day weekend. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast selection had great options. The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful. Great location. The pool was a little small and got somewhat crowded. The beds were a little small but the room was clean. You also had to keep the drapes closed during the day because of the people working in the offices next door could see everything. No complaints. But it would be nice if breakfast lasted until 10. Check-in was a mess. Room wasn't ready at 3pm, stated check-in time, and the small lobby was full of frustrated people waiting to check-in. The coffee at breakfast was weak at best, so we always hit Starbucks after breakfast for our morning jolt!. Not a lot of natural light in the room because you are surrounded by skyscrapers. This is by no means the hotel's fault but just an observance. nothing. The soap and shampoo were a definite minus. No scent; no lather. Went to the nearby drug store and purchased my own. nothing. Not much, though cutting off breakfast at 9 a.m. on weekdays seems a bit early for leisure travellers like ourselves. Beware if yu are hungry and arriving on Sunday evenings. The options for food are very limited. There was no lounge or restaurant in the hotel; there were rats running around outside close to the door who ran into a hole in the ground at the edge of the building when we passed them. Near-by, off-site parking is expensive it would be nice if the hotel had it on-site or could arrange a discount. Parking was not available and very expensive at local garages. A subsidy for parking would be nice. The beds were a little smaller than expected and we could hear the people in the next room. That said, I would stay here again. -how early the breakfast ends. -one of the employees had a power trip. breakfasts on plastic (that is what dropes the value of stay in this hotel); no vegetables (but some fruits are on site); no enough light (skyscrapers all around). Room was small, dresser drawers were narrow, not much storage room for personal items, not enough electrical outlets. Vending machines were all broke or out of order. The room temperature wS very cold despite adjusting thermostat. The fan noise was very loud. hot tub is very small, as is pool, but at least it has them. sheets kept popping off matress, not a great fit ad th beds were not real comfortable. We arrived late, had noted a late check-in, and were not given a room with double beds like we booked. costly parking fees. pool was small. Approaching the hotel and parking was not easy. The pool was small, but fine for us. Cold air coming in around the window. Area closes down after 10. the lack of safe deposit box and refrigerator. Took the staff few minutes to give me the key. It cost me 88 for parking for a weekend! I think that parking should be included in the stay, I was not planning on 100 for parking. Was not happy about that.
