  My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city.   The hotel is completely new. We had the room facing the pool area(cons of the street). The room was very clean with comfortable beds, with enough space, free juices and water in the refrigerator, tea and coffee maker with coffee and tea bags (refilled every day) and with very nice and clean bathroom. Near the hotel there are more than few restaurants where you can eat well at a reasonable price. - The rooms are nicely decorated, the hotel has its own personality, every room is decorated differently. We had a room on the top floor and it came with a large terasse and sunbeds. The bed was perfect, not too hard, not too soft. Location is great, just one block from Passeig de Gracia and Plaza Catalunya. Close to the lively tourist area, but still in a less crowded, noisy neighbourhood. Food at breakfast was good, large variety, it's only a cold breakfast. The hotel is brand new, we stayed on
