Valencia Hotels

I'm quite surprised by some of the negative reviews I've seen for this hotel. I came here with 5 friends and we stayed during the La Tomatina festival. I thought it was a nice hotel - the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, it's only 5-10 minutes walk from Barrio del Carmen where there's lots of bars and restaurants and it's only 2 minutes walk from a tube station! Plus it's only €15.00 in a taxi from the airport which takes about 15 minutes. It's not a great location if you wan - Gillian

This hotel was fabulous. We got our room for a great price because they had a 50th anniversary special. The hotel is a little off the main street (so you're not stuck w/street noise), but close to shopping, sights, transportation, etc. They had a computer and printer set up for free internet use and printing. Although the hotel looks very nice, and it is very new and clean. It's location is the real bummer here. One has to take the bus, and/or metro to go to either the beach or the city centre. The rooms are nice and clean, but the airco systems aren't really working properly, they'r either too hot or too cold. Breakfast was nice though and the receptionists were very helpful as well. - Lindsay

Hello Everyone! First of all I must say I never write my opinion in any of these sites but one of my friends mention it for me and I decided to register. I have been to a couple of hotels the last yer but the Hotel Catalonia Excelsior in Valencia (Spain) was a really nice Hotel to stay at. we stayed at this hotel with our teenage son and niece we all really enjoyed it. Hotel dosent look like it should be in benidorm its a really pretty hotel not like all the high rise hotels in the center .The hotel was really clean rooms were cleaned and towels changed on a regular basis,The room would of been really spacious if just the two of us but was very cramped because there were four of us we had a double bed and a sofa bed in one room it was ok though as the weather was fabulous we were - William

A last moment booking and didn't know what to expect. A great 4 night break. Hotel staff were excellent, helpful and friendly nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. The room and bathroom were 1st class and room service prompt, if not a little pricey, but hey what do you expect the hotel is upmarket. Me and my boyfriend went there for a romantic trip and indeed it was! First impressions: taxi from valencia airport to the hotel was expensive -40e and the taxi driver drove like crazy! But for some reason on the way back to the airport it was only 15! So a little tip - set a price before you get in the taxi! First impressions of the hotel - not amazing and great - just ok. Excellent hotel, first time in Valencia but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly, happy to provide you with any information and help you asked for. Hotel restaurant a little pricey but good, bar and restaurant staff very attentive and cutomer focused. Hotel room was good size even with 3 beds, bathroom large, lots of hot water and a great selection of toiletries provided just in case you did forget something, bed linen changed 3 times during our stay of 5 nights. We stayed for 3 nights and had a great apartment at the back of the building, so no traffic noises (but birdsong from the caged birds in the garden). We had an apartment without dishwasher which was a bit of a disappointment, so ask for that when you make a reservation if you want one! The staff at the reception desk were very friendly, as well as the lady that cleaned our room. Very good bed, beautiful modern bathroom (shower, no bath), nice modern kitchen. We stayed at the Opera for our First wedding anniversary in Valencia. We fell in love with this city, and would definately recommend this hotel. It was in great location for visiting the Science museum and the Aquarium and there was easy access to the beach and old town via bus. The hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and style. The rooms were nicely laid out and very clean.
