Barcelona Hotels

We stayed here 20-22 October in Room 702! I would recommend requesting this room when booking as it has a large terrace with table and chairs! The Wilson Hotel is a beautiful place to stay in Barcelona, large modern bedroom and bathrooms! The breakfast is quite over priced for what you get. We only ate here because it poured down with rain! I would advise that you take the hotel address with you if you intend on getting taxi's as they have no idea where it is 9 times out of 10! Or ask for - Dilip

The Hotel Cortes was a pleasure due to the wonderful staff and the incredible location. We would definitely stay here again. We had a delightful room on the second floor facing the street...we were unsure as to whether we'd like this due to the previous reviews about noise. We were quite pleasantly surprised that the so-called noise level was merely an ugly rumor. Our stay was quiet and peaceful...we must have had a decent size room because we felt that our room and bathroom were large. We even - Jennifer

Perfect location...off airport bus at Plaza Catalunya and cross the road. We celebrated my wifes' birthday during our stay..I requested cava and flowers (like you do!), reception staff were extremely courteous & helpful with a nice birthday greeting and strawberries dipped in chocolate....a perfect start to the holiday. The hotel room had a great view of Plaza Catualunya, and if you looked the other way you had a view of the glass walled shower...a bit wasted on ourselves as we are a litt - Mark

This was a beautiful Hotel - stayed 2 nights at the end of March 2009. Got very good deal through 1800hotels.ie Hotel is just off Plaza de Catalunya so in a brillant location. Very comfortable hotel with beautiful tce and swimming pool area - would like to enjoy its facilities in the summer. Rooms were o/s - very very large and the bathroom was super. Staff were very helpful especially when we purchased some of their jewellery which was on display / sale...great idea for those who are only o - Terry

I am quite familiar with many hotels in BCN from the hostel style to 4 star luxury. This is the first time I stayed at this hotel. It is in an excellent location just a five minute stroll from the AeroBus stop and Metro in Plaza Espana. It took just 5 minutes to check-in and receive my room key card. The hotel is clean and spacious. Rooms have a/c; the bathroom has a full sized bath and shower. My room was at the side of the hotel overlooking a park. I've experienced Barcelo Hotels in the UK and always enjoyed them, so given they are a spanish group I thought I'd try them on this trip to Barcelona. We know the city well, and love its metropolitan funky style, it has lots of design - led hotels, thats what we look for. From outside it looks like an upturned waste paper basket, but that's great because from the rooms it doesn't stop the views, but people can't see in easily. Echo every great review of this hotel. Very clean and comfortable hotel. We only had one minor discomfort. The night clerk was a very friendly young man willing to help in any way. When we mentioned we were going to the Music Museum the next day, he offered a discount coupon but we told him we had 2 discount coupons, not knowing we had lost one. The next morning we asked the gentlemen at the desk if he could give us the discount coupon but he said they didn't have any. I explained the night cler - Carole

If you want to be right in the middle of it all, this is the place to stay. It is "downtown" so expect the outdoor nighttime noise one would have in any downtown area. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was great, very accomodating and throughly fluent in English. The location - who could ask for more if you want to be right where everything is. Markets, shopping, tapas bars, museums, the aquarium, etc. all right there - a block or 2 away or a short walk. We had a superb stay at Hotel Axel. It is by far the nicest gay accommodation we've stayed in. All the staff were so friendly and took plenty of time and trouble with us. Good facilities and food; really interesting and smart decor. Some of the bits and bobs (like need a bit of TLC to bring them properly to good condition but this is a minor point. I would recommend this hotel very very much, for couples both straight and gay. We will definitely return. Lovely place! :) - Neil
