Madrid Hotels

A very clean and modern hotel. A good sized bathroom too. Both the reception staff and cleaners were very polite and attentive which made our two night stay all the better. Rooms are average in size. A very kind gesture was the complementary mini bottles of cava and chocolates on arrival ( we had informed them prior to arrival that we were celebrating my wife's 40th). They have a mini spa too on the 10th floor which you can book and use. The use was included in the price we paid for the room, as - David

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The check in and check out were easy. The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms were of a good size. The maid service was excellent. The breakfast had a large selection of cold foods including hams, cheeses, rolls, yoghurts, etc. There was also hot food including bacon and sausages. The metro is right outside the hotel and makes the city easy to explore at just 1 euro per jouney. The location is very central and only 5 - William

My wife and I had a delightful stay at the Catalonia Centro in Madrid in July. The hotel is at excellent location, on Goya near Velasquez and just the right size. Our room was very smartly furnished and comfortable. Reservation made through softguides gave us an excellent price of 83 E., much less the rate on the hotel web site. I will stay there again next year. - David

I really liked the fact that your hotel as a transfer service from and back the airport. we didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes. the rooms are very confortable ande the design is great. - Aurelio

My husband and I stayed at the Room Mate Laura during our 1 night stay in Madrid in October 2009. While the Room Mate Laura is not a luxury hotel, it is an exceptional 3- star hotel that I would not hesitate to stay in again. (This hotel was nicer and cleaner than many hotels I've stayed in that claim to be 4-star.) Our room, the lobby and the breakfast area were modern, very clean and nicely decorated. Room Mate Alicia is in a terrific location, close to the Prado and within walking distance of the Royal Palace and other city sites. It is on a small square with several tapas restaurants. Although the room is small, it is smartly furnished and comfortable, with a terrific bed. Breakfast, which includes hot dishes in the buffet, is served in a restaurant next door. Fully worth its four star rating. Beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. Our room faced the street but noise was not a problem due to two double paned windows--yes, four panes of glass keep the outside world away. Though conveniently located in a pleasant area with upscale stores, it is a short walk to the usual tourist attractions--the Prado was a 15 minute walk and the Puerta del Sol was 20 minutes. We booked this hotel for a very cheap rate basically because of the good location. After reading the reviews before I stayed here I thought my stay in Madrid would be a night mare, but it was anything but that. The room was very spacious and very clean. There was a very small smell initially when I walked in but that went away as soon as I opened the window. We had a great view of the gran via from the 5th floor which was really cool. I stayed at The Muralto in June 2009. The suite had a small kitchen and a notice saying that anything we needed could be had from reception, although past experience means I tavel with a camp kettl.e, The room was serviced with clean towels every day even though this was not necessary. The staff were friendly and most spoke English if even a little. Soundproving in any apartment block can be a problem and noisy guests would be bothersome but we had no trouble. On the Gran Via, right across the road from the doorstep of Chueca, about 10 minutes walk from the old city in one direction, and the art galleries in the other. A grand hotel with spacious and well priced rooms, friendly staff and a good coffee shop. This was one of the best value-for-money hotels we have stayed at in Europe. everythin was gr8 about the hotel. price was so reasonable (euro 92 per room per nite) the staff really were very helpful and went out of their way to help with any requests we had. the breakfast was included in price, served til 12 on wkends and was delish. location was fab, quite upmarket area but with brill selection of shops & restaurants for all price ranges on the door step. if i ever return to madrid there will be no other place to stay - Michael

Even if you do not need an airport close by, this hotel is worth a stay. It is located in a nice little village and is quiet despite being practically at the airport. Check in and out were friendly, efficient, and professional with English speaking staff. Our two rooms were clean with very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. Yes, there is complimentary water, juice and pop in the mini fridge! Staff were pleasant and very accommodating. Buffet dinner in the hotel restaurant was good value but - Michael
