We stayed here for 1 night and it's a lovely hotel down a quiet lane away from the noise and traffic. Yes, there's renovation work being done to the outside of the hotel but this didn't start at a ridiculous hour and it has to be done! The room was spotlessly clean and very central, opposite Sol. Free wifi, which worked, unlike some other hotels! Reception was efficient and friendly. Always book online in Spain because it's cheaper, even last minute. We are a young couple and recently we spent a lovely long weekend in Madrid at Rafaelhoteles Orense. The hotel is situated in a great location, 5 mins walk from Bernabeu Metro stop and 15 mins walk from Nuevos Ministerios, where there is Metro with 3 handy routes and Cercanias (short distance train). Here, in Nuevos Ministerios station, there is a direct Metro route to Barajas Airport (route 8 to all Terminals) so you can get to the airport from the hotel in less than 1 hour for just €2. Though a bit of a walking distance from the heart of the city, this hotel is in a quiet, nice neighborhood with its own set of restaurants and bars. The hotel staff was extremely welcoming and professional and the rooms were climate controlled (which was great in August) and also spotless. The rooms, while not extremely large, were cozy and spotless. I would definitely stay again! - Catherine

This hotel is near two metro stations (Plaza Espana and San Domingo) set back from the Gran Via (so little traffic noise) and easy walking distance to Puerta del Sol and Palacio Real. The location is ideal as a base from which to explore Madrid. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was expensive but there was a choice of bars and restaurants close by all serving good breakfast at reasonable cost. I would recommend this hotel, partitularly for it's great location. It's right near all the shops & walking distance to all the attractions. I went with 5 other girls age range 26-34 & we had a great time. We has 3 triple rooms, which contained 3 single beds. We didn't eat in the hotel, so I've no idea what the food was like. Had a laptop & free internet in our room. Not many TV channels, I think perhaps 1 english speaking & 1 music channel were the only ones I could understand. - Paul

Just spent 6 nights in this hotel. Convenient to the train station, the museums and the old town - close to some good restaurants. Breakfast was included and was very good. Rooms were clean and property is well kept. Hotel staff was helpful although they had some issues with printing boarding passes for flights home. Price was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. - Lesley

Recently remodeled this hotel was a great fit because it was modern, clean and staffed with multi-linguals and friendly faces. It's in the financial area where there are also a lot of foreign embassies. The only drawback is that it is about a two block walk to the two near-by metro stations. If you're afraid of a nightmare European hotel this is not it at all. - Donna
