  I have stayed a number of nights in meininger Hotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof to catch an early train from Berlin Hauptbahnhof. This hotel is less than 100 m away from the station. I also stayed in other hotels around Berlin Hauptbahnhof and I think meininger Hotel is the best for the money you are paying (well, Motel One is clearly much nicer, but you ... what people say » usually have to pay twice as much). This MEININGER Hotel had everything I needed for a sleepover: clean and comfortable bed, good location, free WIFI, - - Outstanding location, right next to train station. Thanks for you hospitality it was very - Hotel was walking distance to most of the sights. Once you find the hotel it is easy to find your way back. The difficulty was by car locating the hotel and how to drive there. The entrance is not on a main road but on a tiny 1-way street that runs between 2 main roads. A friend who grew up in Berlin was driving me and we circled a few times before spotting the entrance to the hotel. I'm sure a taxi driver would have no trouble locating it. Lots of shops nearby as well as a train station.

  We had a studio apartment and it worked out well. We were able to buy a few breakfast items, snacks, and beverages. Small kitchenette did not have a stove, but had a microwave and all the needed dishes and utensils. The room was cleaned every day and was spotless. We really loved the little balcony for our evening glass of vino. - Location was handy, being very near to the main train station with underground and tram and bus connections. However, it was a little too far to walk to the main attractions. The apartment was fantastic - very spacious and the beds were very comfortable - and the children loved the indoor swimming pool.
