Hotels near Tegel Airport

No forward planning means using ingenuity. I figured there would be a plethora of hotels adjacent to the airport. Wrong. There's a very pricey Holiday Inn and the Mercure. Well I arrived by car and would be touring round with the aid of GPS in the car so location adjacent to the airport was just a matter of convenience. The hotel was OK. Easy to find and the Navi GPS was a godsend. I wouldn't recommend this for folks without a car. There's a restaurant but I only used it once for dinner and once - Kevin

This hotel is very convenient for those traveling in and out of Tegelhof. It's about 10 - 15 minutes away from the airport. We found the rooms to be clean, reasonably appointed and comfortable. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We even ate one night at the hotel restaurant and were favorably impressed by the food and wine selection. I had low expectations for the hotel because of some of the reviews I had read, however, I found the hotel very decent. It was close the airport and one of the closer hotels to the Messe Sud (convention center). I was attending a conference there, so it was perfect. It was also a short walk to the subway station. All together, it was perfect for a business traveler. The room service left something to be desired, but the breakfast in the morning was good. - David

I showed up at the hotel with my 3 year old daughter and 4 large suitcases after a long, transatlantic flight. The hotel staff was so very understanding and friendly. They helped us get situated when we were there and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. For example, they offered my daughter little candies, a small toy, and a disney comic book right when we got there. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you're looking for a place near the Teg - Linda

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for a week in May 2007. We were looking for a decent hotel with pentry and fridge in the room, so we opted for a 7 nights package and got the 7th night for free. The hotel is not a brand new one, but still very nice. The room was big, with bathroom and shower and separate WC. Additional features: airconditioning, fridge, tea kettle, fridge. Daily cleaning, coffee and croissants for free in the morning. Had a wonderful weekend. It was great value for money. This is a clean modern hotel with very comfortable rooms. The service is pleasant and efficient. Although it is outside Berlin it is right by the underground which takes you straight through to the centre and is within walking distance of a beautiful lake. It is also beside a huge new shopping centre in a nice area and is peaceful at night . There is a free hot drinks machine and internet in the foyer and breakfast , apart from an excellent - Lynne

A very good hotel, spacious rooms, very good breakfast. Weather was excellent during our stay so the walk to Brandenburg Gate, which took an hour, was very pleasant - half of it through the park and, because public transport is so good, it is amazingly traffic free for a capital city. It is a brisk 20 minute walk to Turmstrasse underground station, slightly less to Mierendorfplatz. We didn't use the bus, but there looked to be plenty close by.
