Munich Hotels

Just back from short break at the Hotel Cristal. Room at front of hotel was noisy but slept great because we were so tired there is so much to see in Munich. The room itself was fabulous, beds great and bathroom spotless. Room service was excellent and breakfast great. If your using the U bahn make sure to get a three day pass, it was only 21 euros for two people. Staff at hotel were fine, breakfast staff very helpful, night porter was fine but on checking out the receptionist was not very fr - Alan

I stayed on the garden-view side and was impressed how quiet the room was. We arrived about 22:10 and the reception was still open. Since we arrived so late and left the next morning, we were allowed to park at the hotel entrance for free. The staff are very friendly and the location is good, hence, I will definitely stay there on my next visit! - Peter

arriving from the Middle East at 23:00 at airport you take the S1 to HBF and step out right in front of the hotel...that's what I call perfect location...receptionist was a bit sleepy at 01:00, but so were we. The rooms are a bit small, but functional. Almost broke my neck in the bed...the two twins where not properly connected and moved apart during the night on the cheap laminate floor. that was the only drawback...and the small bathroom. Great location, perfect rooms and price combination. Immaculate, modern, super breakfast, great service, completely remodelled, across the street from metro and train line, and half a block from pedestrian shopping and historic centre of Munich. We had stayed at the Platzl previously for double the cost of the Daniel Hotel and the Daniel was much nicer. Would definitely recommend it. - Anthony

The Holiday Inn Sud is certainly not in the center of Munich but it is about a 25 minute ride on the U-Bahn from the Marienplatz on the U-3 line from Machtfinglestrasse. This is a decent hotel. The rooms were very clean, small balcony (watch in winter as the balcony freezes) and has an ICE machine! The Bierstube was great-good food as well as the breakfast buffets. Alot of tours stay here with easy access to the highways for the buses but I was pleased with the hotel. About a 5-7 minute walk to - Sharon

I also have had the pleasure of staying at The Charles Hotel Munich. After 30 hours of travel and a short walk (10 minutes) from the central Airport bus shuttle, to be greeted with a cold towel (it was 36degrees) and my room already some hours before normal check in set the standard. The rooms are functional and stylish, and nothing appears to be any trouble for the excellent staff. The bar is a quiet area, but the staff engaging and professional. Not a bad hotel, about 10 minutes walk from the tower in a fairly quiet back street near to the river. Rooms clean and room enough for 2, Free airconditioning if you can work out how to use it. Bathroom had a dripping bath tap, The bath mixer tap was stuck on shower and the sink plug did not pop up when the button was pressed. The breakfast was the usual Italian buffet style with a toaster that took ages to toast and the pastries were reheated and very dry, possibly left from the day before. - George

Wow what a find ! who minds the short walk and U-Bahn trip into central Munich when you can have a two floor appartment for the price of a hotel room, with breakfast as well ! Hotel is locate in Gern , a quiet leafy suburb with its own Biergarten near the hotel. Our appartment on the top floor had a small well equiped kitchen/dining area, lounge with two sofas, coffee tables and tv with Sky-sports channel,there was a small balcony with table and chairs for al fresco dining !
