Cologne Hotels

This hotel is a really great place to stay in if you want to be in the center of Cologne and to be served by very kind and helpful people. I had a single room which was tiny but extremely clean and quiet. Star Am Dom is located 2 minutes away from train station and 5 from the Cathedral. Breakfast was absolutely great, had everything I'd like to have and more and the lady on the reception was very very kind and helpful. Definitely recommend this hotel!!! - David

I chose this hotel mainly because of it was a reasonable price for such a central location. It was actually much better than my expectations: five minutes from the main station and in the centre of the Aldstadt, so very convenient for galleries, museums, shops, Rhine, etc. It doesn't look much from outside, but the lounge area and reception were nicely designed (very modern and quite trendy), everything was spotlessly clean, the reception staff were highly professional and also very friendly and - Michael

great holel, very efficient and freindly staff, couldnt do enough for you. rooms were clean, very comfortable and warm. bathroom was good and hairdryer worked fine. food was spot on and able to cook requests e.g pasta lots of pubs and places to eat nearby. transport was easily reachable and not far to travel to anywhere. good flying to dussledorf and getting train to cologne. the hotle was good value for money and we will definately stay there again - Lev

We travelled here for a 4 night stay on a rail holiday. The hotel was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfasts were eat what you want and very satisfying on the wet wintery days. The bar was littly used by our party, however, I was pleased that they had an adequate supply of non alcoholic lagers, unlike other hotels I have stayed at on the continent. My Partner and I recently spent four days in Cologne. I would definitely recommend Hotel Windsor as somewhere to stay. The Hotel is approximately 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral and Station which considering some of the areas can be pretty noisy at night, staying away from the centre was a good idea. We arrived around 11.30pm and the man on the reception desk couldnt have been more helpful, even guided us to a bar that was open so we could have a drink before retiring. The room was brill - Emily

After some very patchy stays in inconsistent and in cases dire Starwood properties in Germany- I hit gold this last week. The Sheraton Essen followed by this hotel. Both are excellent. The Dom has the best location in Koln- right next to the cathedral and in the heart of things- with side views from the rooms of the iconic building. The hotel has character, has a great bar/terrace outside to admire the square and people watch. My room was a little on the small side and I would have given it 11 - Antonia

We agree with the other reviews. This is an excellent choice for Cologne/Koln. It is very close to the city center (but in a quiet area) and our room had a view of the Dom. The staff is great, the room is great, the food is excellent. I guess the only negative is the expensive car parking at the hotel: 25 Euro per day... - Mark

We've just returned from a weekend in Cologne (Koln). This hotel should be set as standard for how the employees of an hotel should work/behave. They were always smiling, giving proper answers to all our questions, very polite ... we are absolutely and positively impressed. And very important for non-German tourists ... they speak English almost fluently. The hotel is calm, clean and very close to city center (the big cathedral is at less than 10 minutes walking); the train station is at 7-8 - Nico

Myself and work colleagues stayed at this hotel in Sept 09. The check in was quick and easy and we were able to check into our room at mid-day. The room was clean and bright and the bed and pillows were amazing, we all slept so well. We had one or two minor queries and staff were able to sort them out immediately (we called reception as we had no milk in our room and a member of staff appeared with milk in less than a minute). Nothing was too much bother and the staff were attentive without b - Anna

The hotel was excelent. We liked it because the rooms were huge, with king size bed and a lot of space. Everything was clean and the bathroom was great. the price of our room included a buffet breakfast that was really good. I have no bad comments on this hotel and i would totally recomend it. it is located in an area full of bars and restaurants, great for hanging out. - Philip

I was unsure why this hotel was so cheap when i booked it. When i arrived, i discovered the entire street in front of it was completely torn up. This was a minor inconvenience though, as my room faced the other way. Due to the construction, it was difficult to find. At 12,50 per night, parking was reasonable. The room was excellent though, and the interior of the hotel was also very nice. The main tourist area (near the Dom) was a short bus ride or a nice 15 minute walk. The walk takes y - Izabela
