I liked everything about this hostel. It is on the 5th floor but
don't worry because they do have an elevator. The place was recently
renovated so everything is new, modern, and beautifully decorated
w/TV and nice quiet a/C. Even though it is on a very busy main
street, my room #12 was quiet because it faced into a courtyard. Wi-Fi
was free and worked great. The location could not be better. I could
walk to Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and gardens, Plaza Espagna,

This is rather a 3 star hotel not just a hostel - the rooms are small but are really cosy and comfortable; the furniture is new and there is enough place to put all your the baggage; it was extremely clean (we had our room cleaned every day); there`s free wi-fi which is fast; the personal speaks English which is quite an advantage in Spain; location - perfect - 2 mins to Gran Via and not more than 20 mins to Puerta del Sol and at the same time it was not noisy at all.

The location is superb (if a little hard to find down a side street). Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to do everything to make our stay perfect. Was concerned a "hostal" might not be up to scratch but it was like any other 3 star accommodation. Room was large with fairly new ensuite and very comfy beds. It's an hostal, not an hotel. Said that, everithing was really good: WiFi decent, clean room (they clean it every day) and the staff is very helpful. Position is very good: really close to atocha, to the retiro gardens, the Prado, the modern art museum.. And close to city centre as well. In case in the district there are too different bars/pubs..
