  We loved the cleanliness of the Hostal. We also enjoyed the excellent location and walking distance to historical sites and museums. Our host, Luisa was excellent, helpful and very friendly. She was there to greet us and allowed us to come back for an extra day after our train to Paris was cancelled. Her brother was also very helpful and friendly.... what people say » We would come back to the same Hostal without hesitation next time we visit Madrid. - Loved the location, Hostal Mayor was close to major attractions such as Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. It was also very near the underground. Shower had great pressure and the rooms were very clean. In addition to this the view from the balcony was also great. Over all a nice comfortable place to stay, we enjoyed it and would recommend to others

  The personnel was very friendly, I was very sick during my stay and they took care of me, were speaking english and french very well. I will go back there with no doubt! The location is great, so close to metro and to la latina, plaza del sol, small fresh market... Etc - The rooms were cleaned regularly, more than any other accommodations we stay... what people say » ed in in Spain. The staff were very friendly and helpful and very accommodating to our needs. This place is in a great central location making it easy to get around.

  It was my second time and I loved it. 1.location,location. Location! Literally 2 minutes on foot from Puerta del Sol ( the very center of town) with a night shop next door and plenty of shops, restaurant and eateries 2. Mrs. Luz , the owner is always sweet and accommodating.3. CLEAN. Our room and the bathroom have been recently refurbished. 4. QUI... what people say » ET. There were hardly any noise. Surprising given its location. 5. For the seniors there is also a LIFT.All in all it is a great value for money. I w - The location next to the Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor is excellent, walking distance to the Prado and the main sights. We were received very cordially by the charming and very friendly Luz, in her clean and comfortable hostal. Lots of eating options nearby. We didn't have a good experience at the nearby Museo del Jamon, but that was just our bad choice for breakfast.

  The proprietor/manager, Eddie Stella, was extremely helpful and accomodating. He stayed up till 2am to check us in when we were driving up from Sevilla. The location of the apartments is absolutely the best in Madrid. It has onsite parking with direct elevator access to the apartments/rooms - a rarity with many apartments in Europe.
