The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hostel was clean and tiddy. They sold the Berlin Welcome Card which was very convenient and they are right across from a U-bahn stop. Excelent location - about 20-30 minutes walking to Alexanderplatz.
The street is not very noisy and the windows of our rooms were in the backyard.
The rooms are clean, warm, there is a non-stop hot water, the bed is comfortable.

The apartment was the perfect size for a couple with extra pull out beds for a family group. Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities and lots of storage. The apartment was pretty big and well equipped with everything you need for a few days. We enjoyed the BluRay Player! The restaurant is great for breakfast/dinner, with very tasty and modern cuisine. The apartment is in a good location, between PrenzlauerBerg and Mitte. The U-Bahn and StrassenBahn (BernauerStrasse) are just a few minutes walking from the apartment. Nice apartment very close to the Bernauer Str U-Bahn Stn. These apartments are managed through the nearby Raja Jooseppi Cafe and, despite first appearances, this was in fact a lovely little cafe with very friendly staff and some of the best coffee in Berlin. The menu was limited but the food excellent.

I do not normally blog about hotels.
But Matiss was a superb host, the apartment was clean, stunning, secure (4 bolted doors to access), a gorgeous little courtyard.
It was basic, but at £50 a day for your own place what do you expect, had a small kitchen, bathroom, when we ran out of linen (wet towels) Matiss dropped more.

If you want a clean modern room on a budget it was very good although if you are looking for a social aspect wouldn't recommend. - Good location, walking distance to Alexanderplatz, Museum Insel, etc also U-Bahn station Bernauerstrasse. Room was not overlooking street, so in a quiet position looking onto a small, albeit scruffy, garden/courtyard.

The room for vary spacious, completely renewed and really very clean. The breakfast was very good and the waiters always working so that you get all you needed.
While we arrived late after midnight everything was perfectly organised so that someone was reachable to give us our keys.
The hotel is a good compromise between downtown and Adlersholf scientific area
