  From the front desk staff to the cleaning crew, all the staff was extremely friendly and willing to help in any way. We especially enjoyed the people who helped with the complimentary breakfast.   Were booked for Monday night but arrived, unexpectedly, a day early..in the middle of the night. They accommodated very nicely--giving a good rate and complimentary parking.   We were only there 2 days waiting for cruise ship but enjoyed the location. The staff were friendly and helpful. It took us a while to work out the bus system but once we did it was good. Could I suggest that when giving directions to foreigners that you tell us which way is North. Coming from down under it is not always evident.   When you take everything into consideration, this place is a good value for a budget motel. Michael, Raul and Michael were helpful and considerate - they even let me keep my bags in the office after I checked out, since my train wasn't scheduled until 4 pm.   The staff was very friendly and welcoming, especially Rodney. Rooms were newly remodeled and nice and clean. They were well appointed with a small frig, microwave and a 1 cup coffee maker. The pool is at their sister property one very short block up the street - no big deal at all. For the price this is a great property to stay at. There are restaurants, shopping, convenience stores, drug stores - just about anything you could need - within walking - The rooms have been recently refurbished and are to a really good standard (not just to usual new bed linen and same old bathroom refurb). It was clean and modern and within a half a block of the fantastic Pacific Beach. It was also only a short walk to the many local restaurants and bars.
