When you take everything into consideration, this place is a good value for a budget motel. Michael, Raul and Michael were helpful and considerate - they even let me keep my bags in the office after I checked out, since my train wasn't scheduled until 4 pm. It's true the neighborhood it's in leaves a lot to be desired - I wouldn't want to be a lady walking around after dark, but no one bothered me. This isn't a romantic place, but if you're traveling in and out by car you have nothing to worry .

Shopping - Santee trolley, stop Fashion Valley; Old Town park & museums, restaurants, Excursion Trolley stop (Twiggs street) - in walking distance! Sea World - bus 9! Beach - bus 8! Food - bus 8 or 9, stop at Target or Ralphs, MC Donalds, Dennies, JackInTheBox, Wendys, IHop... Bus 30 - Great Plaza Buffet at Garnet street, healthy and yummy! Legoland - bus 30 and at La Jolla\Torrey Pines bus 101 Oceanside to Carls. The staff was always excellent no matter who we interacted with. Location is less than a block from a major transit center and state historic old town that will take you anywhere worth going. Area was surprisingly safe and we had no issues walking around late at night. Hotel is very clean and I thought was very good for the rock bottom pricing. Air conditioner in our room functioned perfectly. Wouldnt recommend ordering from the italian food place advertised in the rooms though. Only downside. We liked the the price of the motel. Cleansingness of it was a huge plus! The staff was completely friendly, security was very nice. The walk from old town and our room, was less then 5 mins. Other reviews had me on edge, especially with roaches. However? Not one time did we see any. Our room was clean, the tv was great, no interruptions, it was all nice. Definitely going again!. Good price Everytime I got back to the motel it was always nice & clean the house keeping ladies do a great job (: Eco-friendly the staff was always nice to us I like the fact that they have security so not just anyone can walk in like nothing you have to be a guest in order to able to go in makes me feel safe. Excellent staff and very helpful. They never say no whenever you are in doubt. Keep up an excellent service. The room condition is superb and very comfortable. I will recommend anyone who are coming to San Diego for short duration, better for him to stay here while looking for a permanent place. Very good motel. The staff were really friendly and we felt really safe as there was a security men staying all night making sure everything was allright. Also very close to Mexican restaurants. I had use of a microwave in the room that included vending machines and washers & dryers.Having the option of a microwave really saved me a lot of $ since I was able to cut out restaurants & brew my own coffee!. The staff is very professional and helpful. You can see that maintaining the property is important. The accessible rooms are "really" accessible with roll in/ walk in showers. Exceptional! I'm normally see tubs in rooms that are labelled "accessible.". The motel was guarded which is very important, pool, jacuzzi, non smoking room was clean, shower was clean, location right next to freeway which if you want a quick exit is perfect. Located a mile away from mall and seaworld. They respected my privacy & if I needed anything extra (change, more towels, etc.), they gave it to me...always with a smile. Staff was very courteous & attentive. Also love that there was a refrigerator in the room!. exceeded expectations, i had previously read some old awful reviews on this place and the effort the staff provided was more than noticeable and appreciated greatly. i would gladly stay again. BIG BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. This facility is working very hard to renew and acquire a different type of visitors. They have added on site security to insure this. Rooms very clean w queen bed however would be nice to have microwave. the staff was nice we told them that the ac was not working and they replace it with a new unit very fast was close to the old town where the was general stores and restaurant we enjoy our stay. Room was clean. Water was hot. Bed was comfortable. Location was great. Right off the Pacific Highway with easy access to the city, to the airport, and to all other points in San Diego. Fair price, Great location for the money. You can't stay closer to the fishing charters and whale watching docks for less. SeaWorld and Mission Beach are 5- 10 minutes away as well. The EZ8 is there for me, when ever I need them. The bare essentials, but exactly what we need for a simple get-away weekend. Fantastic location, right in the heart of things. location was near to old town, security gard on property, clean non-smoking rooms, free parking, free vouchers and coffee, lowest price with everything you actually need. had added security don't know if needed it but shows they are conscious like the price and they have pizza delivery with local restaurant good price. The homeless were out every morning but for the most part, didn't bother us. Rooms were clean. Access to everything we wanted was easy..... Easy8. Price was good for a double room. I was not interested in paying an extra charge for something that you would get in an average Backpacker's Hostel. To make this motel excellent, each room should have a microwave. There is a common one. So you have to heat things up and then walk back to your room. For a family with children that would be a challenge, as well as for seniors and disabled guests. Free wireless would also be a plus especially for families who normally have laptops, tablets, and other gadgets that need wi-fi. I read a lot bad reviews all I can say is dont believe everything you hear. Train passes by but not bad at all. Only thing I didn't like was fridge wouldn't work, no complimentary breakfast, at least donuts, cookies, bending machines expensive. Unattended kids (as far as I could tell) @ the pool until 9:30pm on 4/27 were very loud; I was not upset with ez-8 for that, though. The freeway being over my room was a little noisy at times. No microwave in room. nothing. Parking was very tight...like to maximize the spaces available all lots were striped for compact cars, not for standard cares. Also the tv did not work very well. Reported it to staff on first day of stay. By the time I left the tv was still not fixed. My wife was freaked out by the fact that the complex is built in the middle of a major freeway exchange. I thought it was a cool example of land use. that is why it's cheap and convenient. location was near to the highway, airport and train station- so it was a bit noisy, wifi was with additional fee (5$). should get an upgrade on pillows just a suggestion. nothing. Nothing. Its a budget motel so you should expect what comes with a budget motel. The tub in room 108 needs to be replaced but you can still take a decent shower. you were under freeway and had noise from planes, trains, and cars. immediate area was not good,. I loved everything about the hotel. parking tight and house keeping did not clean room during multi day stay. parking lot is tight. nothing. First room didn't have a working air conditioner but staff immediately found me another room which was awesome. nothing. I didnt like the security guard there he was rude, some of our friends were waiting for us to check in and parked in the parking lot and he was rude and obnoxious about it and forced them to move. They should get some one more friendly. patrons were coffee hogs , failing to leave coffee for late comers dispite the manager putting out refilled jugs as late as 9:00. T.v. Is small, towels are cheap, and WiFi is an extra cost. It is old, not updated, and a little dingy. Doesn't offer any cab/shuttle. My last 2 nights I was in a room facing the railroad tracks and the trains woke me up at night. There was some remodeling being done at the motel--this was unexpected. The bed was too run-down too old unable to have a good night sleep had backache in am. Next time before I accept the room I will check bed. Nothing. under both interstate 5&8, it was very loud 24/7, also Amtrack too close, made me jump each time they blew their horn.
