  Loved our stay. We live only about 30 mins. north of San Diego and try to stay at the West Gate at least twice a year. It is like being on a vacation even though we are residents.   The hotel, while an older building, had been recently renovated and what a pleasant surprise with all the character & artistic flair in the room (and even the hallway!) The "wow" factor was definitely there when we opened the door to the King suite. The room was a lovely size, the bathroom huge, with great tilework and an awesome shower. The sofa bed actually had 2 separate beds, so we could have had m - I stayed here very recently for six nights while attending a conference downtown. Let me say it was totally worth the extra effort and cost in cabs to get downtown ( half hour by bus, 15 minutes 13 bucks by cab). The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, from the cleaning staff, valet parking attendants, front desk folks and management. I get the feeling people love their jobs and want to deliver good service to the guests. The bar downstairs is awesome and deserves its own review. On

  This was by far the best hotel we have found in San Diego. Luxury for a very reasonable price! Impressive from the moment you see it from a distance, impressive parking, impressive, AMAZING lobby, amazing guest service, amazing everything. The room we chose was a corner King suite... Everything was perfectly clean and fresh in the bathroom. Downstairs, we chose to eat at t - Everything! I was blown away with the beauty of the lobby! The staff was wonderful, our room was fantastic, (corner king), the food was good (pulled pork was best I've had in ages!), and the views were gorgeous. I loved how close it was to so many areas of SD. The pool area (with the firepits at night!) looked wonderful, but it was so windy so we didn't stay. I also loved the old pictures throughout the hotel. If you are from SD it was particularly super to see them.

  I'd like to endorse what other travellers have said about this hotel, the staff are great, the rooms are nice and the cookies are fabulous. But for us the best thing about cci is its location pretty much in the middle of Orange. Come out of the hotel and turn right and you go toward the Hotel Del and lots of shops and places to eat (can recommend ... what people say » the seared Tuna at Tent City and the crab stuffed giant prawns at Brigantine). Turn left and you end up at the ferry landing, again with shops and eat - We loved that they were pet friendly, but didn't charge a huge fee like most places do. They gave us a pet gift bag with treats and poop pickup bags for our dog along with a list of pet friendly places to eat in walking distance and doggy day camps in the area. We will DEFINITELY be coming back and recommending this hotel to our friends that have pets. Also we loved the gorgeous bathroom and shower!

The cleaning service accomodates individual schedules. High marks all around.

Loved the location of the hotel, and the overall comf - Great location for sea world visit. There was a problem at our initial check in which wasn't good. However I have to say that the manageress stepped in and resolved the matter with a real customer focus in trying to ensure we had a good stay. For me this is when a hotels reputation stands or falls in how they go about resolving problems. Staff were a credit to the company and I would def recommend to others Thank you
