  This motel is in a good location at the east end of the main street through town - close to shopping, dining and Mesa Verde National Park. The free continental breakfast was better than I expected for a motel in this price range. They offered fresh fruit, juice, coffee & tea and a good assortment of bread, bagels and waffles for toasting. They... what people say » also had several kinds of cereal available for the kids. The breakfast room was small but cute and very clean with an attentive front desk clerk keep - The room was very clean and they allowed pets. The rooms were back off the highway, whereas other motel/hotels in this area were not. The benches outside the rooms and table and chairs on the grassy area outside were a nice plus in the evening.

  I found fantastic people in the staff of Palomine, I was very comfortable there, I felt almost at home when I came back from round trip to San Juans.   The motel has been recently upgraded by new owners. The beds and 100% cotton linens were fantastic. Each room has a little different decor. It is as if the travelers needs were thought of first: 4 bed pillows; layers of bed covers; plates, silverware, corkscrew, toaster, kitchen towels and glassware for the micro/fridge area, lots of fluffy towels... what people say » ; wi-fi, and flat screen. Staff and owner were attentive and friendly . Great to be away from the chains. Stayed 3 nites and did not need regular maid - Great Staff, The owner bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable. The price is a great value. Hotel is from 1947 so don't expect modern baths etc. tho Wi-Fi was good, expect the charm of a well maintained hotel from an era long past. Great stay, will stay again

Above average breakfast without the bacon and eggs, although hard boiled of the latter are available.   Our heater in our room did not work and they tried quickly to repair it but were unsuccessful.. We were moved to a bigger/better room. Way to go staff!! - What a great value for the money, I stayed at an upscale resort and it didn't even have free wi-fi or breakfast!! I will always stay at a supper 8.
