Loved our stay. We live only about 30 mins. north of San Diego and try to stay at the West Gate at least twice a year. It is like being on a vacation even though we are residents. Absolutely love staying downtown. -
Very close to the Gaslamp quarter, this means many dining/drinking opportunities.

This was by far the best hotel we have found in San Diego. Luxury for a very reasonable price! Everything! I was blown away with the beauty of the lobby! The staff was wonderful, our room was fantastic, (corner king), the food was good (pulled pork was best I've had in ages!), and the views were gorgeous. I loved how close it was to so many areas of SD. The pool area (with the firepits at night!) looked wonderful, but it was so windy so we didn't stay. I also loved the old pictures throughout the hotel. If you are from SD it was particularly super to see them.

The rooms were great: nicely decorated, clean, nice view. The size of the room was perfect for me; but I only stayed for 2 days. I can imagine some people find them too small ( if you would have American standards). The location was in Little Italy; very nice area with lots of coffee shops and restaurants. It is not downtown, but within reasonable

The style of hotel and room suited our taste and what you would expect
from a European style boutique hotel. Great Cafe downstairs! Great View
of downtown and a feeling like you are downtown, but not in the thick of
it. Relatively quiet and easy access to all parts of San Diego. The
staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will make this our home
away from home whenever we travel to San Diego.

Great service from the front desk. Carlos was accomodating with keeping us away from the elevator. They even let us check in early.
Quiet hotel - We really appreciated this during a heavy holiday weekend.
The staff gave us tips on what to do during the holiday weekend.
Rooms are clean. We will use this hotel again! -

This hostel is absolutely amazing, and by far the best I've ever
visited. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with helpful staff.
It's located in Little Italy, which is a brief 15 minute walk from
downtown and the Gaslamp Quarter. It's clean and has a very home
feeling to it. Every day the hostel offers activities, both daytime and
evening. Breakfast and dinner is complimentary. I was very comfortable
here, and sad to leave when my stay was over. Will definitely stay here
next time I visit
