  Back from a 3 night stay. Lovely Hoel. Very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was on 2nd floor but were told on checking in that they would move us to a higher floor the next day if we found the room noisy. We were overlooking the Gran Via but we didn't need to move. Room was large and cleaned with fresh towels daily. It had a little kitchenette o... what people say » ff bedroom with everything you needed except a kettle but there was a saucepan to boil water. Also a fully stocked fridge with very reasonable prices. - The staff where very helpful and pleasant and the room was very quiet. We loved the kitchenette which was ideal if we chose to cook & eat in. The location on Gran Via was excellent i.e. close to shops, tourist attractions and Metro which was easy to & from airport. I enjoyed every day in this hotel & would use this hotel on another visit to Madrid. Highly recommended.

  - Location was perfect. Right in the middle of the centre. You can see almost all attractions by walking. Many shops around, many restaurants and food options. Make sure you explore the neighborhood before you decide where to get you meal. This place is near 2 underground stations, but we never needed to use the underground. - The staff was very h... what people say » elpful and pleasant. They also let us leave our suitcases after check out until very late (11pm) - Price is great for what you get. We paid about 35eu - Very good location in the city center, between Sol and Sevilla metro stations. When checking in I got keys to the room and front door, which was very convinient, because in other hostels sometimes you dont get the keys and have to leave them at the reception desk every time you get out (which is something which I really do not like in other hostels).

  The apartment was neat and very well located, near the avenue of La Gran Via and just footsteps away from La Puerta de Sol, the street Hortaleza is very alive, many kind of stores are near the aparment, even a little, but very practical, convenience store where you can pack up with stuff to cook. Great value for money. - The location was wonderful and even though the staff didn't know any English, we didn't have any trouble checking in. We stayed in the family apartment with a private bathroom and there was plenty of space to move around. No crowding. The kitchenette was really helpful for keeping cold drinks and making oatmeal in the morning. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.

  I would highly recommend Hostal Sonsoles. We had a double room with two single beds. The room size was decent (I've stayed in smaller ones in New York), and the bathroom was large (with good water pressure too). The building has a lift (elevator), although I found myself just using the stairs to get to the hostal. There were all sorts of goings on all day and night, and even though we had a room facing t - The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Room was equipped with a safe and hair dryer, toiletries and towels replenished every day. The staff were lovely, the location was very central and near lots of good bars, restaurants and clubs. Great value, will definitely stay here again.

Although it is a 3 star hotel and very small it is not short of all the amenities you would expect in a 4/5 star hotel. The restaurant has an excellent atmosphere and good quality food. The breakfast the hotel offered is the best I've ever had (even compared to 5 star hotels). If you can afford to stay at any of the attic rooms, I strongly recommend it...wow!!!

  Location great!! Loved the market in front. The Apartment building # is not seen from the street. Turn into a 'hallway' from the main street (near Di Nicola or tropical house). You will then see building #. The doorman of the apartment can call the manager of the apartments I assume. They will then come to give you the keys. We asked a rand... what people say » om person to use his cell to call the apartments to find it. Be sure to have the phone number of the place with you! - Location is really good.
