  As suggested by its Basque name (which was translated to me by a local to mean "a beautiful place"), an absolutely beautiful location on top of a hill, with a view of a small bay and a beacon. We could hear the roar of the sea at night! The hotel is located at about 3-4 km from the city. It is possible to walk but on the way back t - - excellent hotel if you travel by car, great location, silent in the evenings, excellent view on the sea, very friendly stuff, easy to reach to San Sebastian, good value for money. You can also travel to the mountain nearby (but somehow you need to pay 2 eur to get to the territory - private territory, we decided to refuse) Tea and coffee are available all the time.   Irenaz resort was located on the edge of a beautiful green valley that was so relaxing. There was often music traveling up from somewhere on the mountain and it made us really feel like we were in Europe. The location is a bit out of San seb city but the bus stop is 100metres down the road and for 1.60 euro takes you 11-15 minutes to get into town... what people say » . The staff were really lovely and helpful with everything from beaches, San Fermin and resturants. The rooms were beautiful and clean and the bathroo - The apartments were very modern and private, overlooking the valley on the outskirts of San Sebastián. We specifically chose the location because we had a car we didn't want to use in the city and parking was free. The apartments were close to a bus stop with regular buses taking about 15 minutes to reach the centre of the city. The reception staff were very helpful in assisting us with a damage report we needed to fax to the leasing company.

  Hotel Nicol's is a great hotel for a great price. It was very clean and the room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets and towels.   A very good experience: Basically a student dorm that is rented out during the summer. It's clean, comfortable and handy for the town center if you don't mind taking a bus (the #5 or 25, 1.60 euros each way). Our room, #157 was great and I recommend it: it's a corner room and very quiet.It's warm at night, but otherwise no complaints. There's even... what people say » a gym in the lower level which is spartan but very handy (and rare in San Sebastian). And and last but NOT LEAST: free parking. (Even though it's out - Colegio Mayor Olarain was a real breath of fresh air after a couple of depressing budget hotel rooms--a big, airy dorm room with big windows and lots of space. Breakfast was good too. But best of all was the staff. While in San Sebastian I fell, cut myself badly, and needed stitches. Next day I was concerned about the wound and staff drove me to a clinic to get checked out. Wonderful people here.

  Our rooms were clean and comfortable and Isabella was friendly and helpful during our 3 night stay in San Sebastian. Breakfast of coffee/tea/juice and breads was set out for self-service each morning. On our last day we had an early train to catch and Isabella helped us with an early breakfast and called us a cab.   I would highly recommend Luarri. The location is very quiet and scenic and a nice escape from the bustle of the city, and the buses into town are quick (maybe 10 mins to Ondaretta Beach and 25 to Gizupkoa Square) and regular and go from outside the front door (a taxi is around €10 from the main taxi rank at the edge of the old town). The windows have shutters so your room will be pitch black which makes it easy to sleep in late - Luarri is a little gem located in a peaceful setting on the mountainside but only a couple of minutes by car away from Ondarretta beach. Conveniently, the local bus stops outside the hotel every half hour or so and drops off at the funicular railway and then on to the centre of San Sebastián. This is a charming, Basque-style, family-run hotel with modern, stylish bedrooms ( only 7, I think). Belen provided us with directions to the hotel and we found it easily. Free parking was a bonus.   The staff at the hotel have been the most helpful I have ever encountered. The hotel is in a superb location, the room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the bay of San Sebastian with superb views. The room was better than you would normally expect from a 2 star hotel. The underground secure parking was a definite bonus and probably a necessity. A clean bright and comfortable hotel situated around the bay and about a 30 minute stroll along the promenade to the old part of town and the port. The in-house restaurant served throughout the day and this was appreciated for a 24 hour visit. Just 7 euros for secure parking underground. We liked the whole set up and would recommend it.

Having anonsite restaurant was helpful during our stay because the weather wasn'tgreat and we were able to enjoy a great dinner without going back intoSan Sebastian for the evening.
