  We were in Europe for 3 weeks, and stayed in 7 different hotels. We decided upon our return that Mercure Hotel wins our award for THE BEST hotel we stayed in, even with all the construction. Located close enough to old town to walk, clean room and bathroom (loved having a tub), excellent friendly staff, and WONDERFUL breakfast! We loved it! - Ex... what people say » celent. The 65 eur fair was a great value. However I believe that suchprice is not available when there are fairs in time. Highly recommended.

  We were staying in xl Art room overlooking the River Rhine. It was well worth the money, as we booked well in advance. Tram stop very close, easy to reach Koelnmesse, shopping area/centre only 15 min. On foot. Room size was great, and clean. Added bonus: coffee maker (tablet). If you need a taxi to the airport, just walk towards the Chocolate Muse... what people say » um and across the road. Fare is approx 24-26 Euros to Cologne airport. - Most of the staff were very friendly&helpful. The room was superb, very spacious& the decor was very funky&modern, bed was lovely&comfortable.the location is great only a 5 min walk to the old town along the river with some great places to eat&enjoy a few drinks. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
