Our favorite aspect of the room was the bathroom with both a deep
soaking tub and a lovely shower with hand held spray. This latter
feature is often omitted in even many nicer hotels. Of course the marble
and the overall design created a cheerful and homey environment. The bed
was excellent and the mattress was friendly to our hypersensitive backs

The sound system was nice. Our room faced the back and so was extemely
quiet for nyc. Of course, the staff was as pleasant as could be. -
The staff were ALL extremely helpful and friendly. The room was large and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was very large and extremely nice. The shower was amazing and had great water pressure. The bed was deliciously comfortable. Even though our room overlooked Madison Avenue, it was very quiet. In short, it was wonderful!!

I like the style, frankly the ' class ' that The Carlyle and that the staff exude. I stayed many times at The Carlyle in the 1980's early 90s, indeed had my wedding there in 1998. I haven't been at all since for no negative reason but simply professionally I no longer visit NY, but expect to privately will do periodically going fwd. I liked it as

The general and unspoiled traditional ambience.
The bathroom was intelligently and luxuriously designed.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff kept us well stocked with fresh towels and plenty of coffee, and they were friendly. The desk staff and the bus boys were knowledgable and extremely helpful and friendly. They were always ready with a quick answer to questions, as well as, recommendations for travel, tours and dining. Thi

Hotel is 'as-expected' but 7 blocks from subway in a nothing-
special neighbourhood. We had a small issues with our booking through
the website : we booked 3, they expected 2 and although a bit stubborn
to start they fixed the problem. The gym is ok but the pool hours are
too short : 10 to 6pm

It's not easy finding reasonably affordable yet good-quality self-catering accommodation in New York City, but this was perfect! As a young woman travelling by myself, I felt I had to keep my wits about me on the street, but everything was fine (just be sure to use commonsense). The train station is very close, and the local grocery store is only

This is a good alternative to staying in downtown Manhattan. Coming from a small UK town the area was a bit of a culture shock.
Spacious appartment with everything you need for a short stay. Subway stop just around the corner so easy to get downtown in 15 to 20 mins. You can also walk to the Guggenheim in a similar time.
A couple of nice restaurants nearby and a supermarket if you want to eat in.

Lots of 1920s - 1930s character which to me is essentially NYC's
architectural heritage.
Friendly, helpful staff all around, including room maid service. Relaxed but organized atmosphere. Doormen value-added service with 'touch of style'.
Terrific location near to the Lincoln Centre and Metropolitan Art Gallery.
Great variety of reasonably priced restaurants nearby including fine dining at the Nice Matin in the hotel itself to first rate sandwiches at the Amsterdam Deli across the street. E

We loved the view, the size, the stove and refrigerator, and location to Central Park West. I will stay here again! We were accommodated hospitably as a family, as I only made this reservation last week. We were only here for the Macy's Parade. We also appreciated the location of the hotel from the MTA subway. We had a stellar trip! Thank you

Located a short walk to upper broadway which is jam packed full of
everything u could ask for. Everything !! short walk to the #1 subway
line which takes u all the way down to battery park. There are
housing projects directly behind thebuilding, but there was no
trouble at all & that just added to the whole atmosphere of
staying in ny. They put on several events on each day & night so
u get to meet a lot of other travelers & explore in a group.
