it was clean, nicely designed , bright, warm, open and friendly , just around the corner from the cathedral, but with ready access to taxis too. the staff , Diego and the young woman (whose name I didn't get) were exceptionally friendly and helpful ~~ in short a delightful place !!

O Remanso dos Patos is a little gem of a hotel, situated in the truly beautiful Ribeira Sacra region. The hotel is full of character, and the restaurant is a delight. Everything. This hotel is wonderfull. The location is perfect, at the apex of the waterfront, the grand avenues and the old city. A beautiful old building completely refurbished, and rooms were well appointed. The owners are very professional and very personable, and attentive to small details. I recomended this hotel to anyone. A 4 star hotel at 3 star prices.
