  We loved the cleanliness of the Hostal. We also enjoyed the excellent location and walking distance to historical sites and museums. Our host, Luisa was excellent, helpful and very friendly. She was there to greet us and allowed us to come back for an extra day after our train to Paris was cancelled. Her brother was also very helpful and friendly.... what people say » We would come back to the same Hostal without hesitation next time we visit Madrid. - Loved the location, Hostal Mayor was close to major attractions such as Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. It was also very near the underground. Shower had great pressure and the rooms were very clean. In addition to this the view from the balcony was also great. Over all a nice comfortable place to stay, we enjoyed it and would recommend to others

  This is an ideal Hostal in which to stay - the central location is excellent with many of the major sights within walking distance. The staff were friendly, helpful and extremely courteous. The rooms were a good size considering it is an old converted building. The rooms were clean and serviced every day.   The studio apartment was very good and over-looking the main tourist area. Yet it was not noisy as the air-conditioning and sound-proofing was good. The first day the studio was a hole-in the wall. But they apologised and cut a third of the room rent and moved us the next day. So when you book insist on the second floor apartment. - Perfect Locat... what people say » ion!!!   The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The room was well kept and perfect for me (traveling alone). The hostal is very quaint, very Spanish and centrally located.   A great place to stay for a visit to Madrid. Absolutely the perfect location. So close to Malasaña yet only 10-15mins walk from Sol. Stone's throw from Callao, and the metro to take you right to Retiro. The nicest staff I think I've ever met in a hotel. We were in a separate room 2 floors up from the hotel, which was really nice. The room itself w... what people say » as perfectly clean, and all facilities were fine. Bed was comfortable, air conditioner worked very well. It had everything we could have wanted. The f - The hostal is just 2-3 minutes walking distance from the center of the city. The staff was speaking english and they were very friendly (they even called for us to book a flamengo night as we don't speak spanish).They offered us free coffee and cookies every day.They kept ur luggages safe and secure in the room for hours after the check out without paying anything. I strongly recommend this hostal if you want an economic,friendly,nice decorated place to stay in Madrid!
