The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. We went for a delux room on a special offer they had that included breakfast. Everything was top class, location, comfort, facilities, staff. Only discomfort would be smoking allowed in hotel bar, and indeed most of the restaurants/bars are still smoking zones. - Good central location, but at the same time very quiet. Comfortable room, helpful staff.

which is about a 10 minute walk straight down Calle Atocha); the young,
ultra-helpful staff was a pleasure to deal with - they are sharp people
and we found no shortage of good English among them.

I rarely give top marks on the grounds there should always be room for some improvement but I'm struggling to find any fault with the Catalonia Atocha. Within half an hour of booking I received a "welcome" email from the hotel with detailed and useful information on how to find the hotel whatever the mode of transport, I’ve never had this before from an hotel, it boded well and I was not disappointed.
Without exception the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and equally happy to speak

Great concept, amazing apartment. Upside independence, downside, no livebeing could assist us, very frustrating experince. However the next day the staff apologized and gave us a voucher for parking, which helped.
