Very accommodative. Took care of transportation from port to airport. Very friendly and responsive. Would stay there again. Excellent for kids. Convenient location. Made you feel welcome. Close to everything, so if you have kids and don't have to have the perfect view, it is great. - Alan

Just got back from 6 days in Santorini at the Dana Villas. We stayed in room 120 and agree that it is the best of the studios. The views are unbelievable from the room as well as from the private balcony. Also, in room 120 nobody cuts across your balcony to get to anywhere else. The staff was very helpful in arranging for taxis and making restaurant recommendations (Katina in Amoudi was the best). The breakfast was also good but it is best to arrive on the earlier side since tables are somewhat - Jane

my husband and i stayed at the Volcano View Hotel during our stay on Santorini. we were truly impressed with our accomodations. we had a spectacular view overlooking the caldera - our room was nicely furnished and was very roomy, we also had a lovely balcony to use. the bathroom was also a good size which was nice. staff was very friendly and helpful. the buffet breakfast here was the best we've ever had at any European hotel we've stayed at - selection and quality were top-notch. we loved the l - Colin

My wife and her twin sister had talked about visiting Santorini for so many years... So, her sister's husband and myself decided to surprise them on their 50th birthday by making their dream come true. We couldn't find a better hotel for this trip than the Porto Fira Suites! The Porto Fira Suites are situated in the main town of Fira, right on the caldera, just like you see on all those TV spots on CNN. I have to agree with the review from nh in Toronto (September 09); Panos and Katherina treated us like family; we arrived at midnight and Panos was there to greet us, we left at 5 in the morning and Panos was there to wave us off - in the intervening ten days he recommended us a different restaurant every night (all splendid in their different ways) and even drove us to one of them in his own car when he couldn't raise a cab. Modern minimalist design hotel. Rooms are fairly basic but have everything you want, ours was somewhat unusual in that the bed was on a first floor mezzanine accessed by a narrow winding staircase. Balconies have very low walls or balustrades so not very child friendly. Staff are very efficient and friendly. Two wonderful swimming pools with spacious terraces for sun beds etc. Breakfasts and lunches OK but we did not eat at the hotel in the evening - everyone seems to go to Fira which is 10 minu - Zoe

We stayed at the Amerisa Suites for our honeymoon. The hotel picked us up at the airport, which was very convenient We were greeted with a complementary fruit and wine plate .. very nice touch. Our suite had a beautiful balcony and view over the pool and the sea. Also it was well decorated and fairly large and very clean. The staff at the hotel was outstanding. Very friendly and helpful, excellent English. Made several dinner/beach/entertainment recommendations and all were good. Also arranged - John

This is a small, family owned hotel. When we arrived, we felt it was a little bit away from the city, specially at night when it is dark. But then we realized that Santorini is SUPER SAFE and there is nothing to worry about. It might be a 10 minute walk to downtown, but believe me, you are going to walk like crazy in Greece, up and down hill, so better get used to it. We had to drag ourselves away! As frequent visitors to Santorini, we are quite familiar with the outstanding view that the caldera has to offer. However, the view from the Belvedere took the top of any location so far! We had a loft room at the bottom of the hotel that took our breath away. It was well equipped with a kitchnette and very clean. The private balcony was lovely. The pool/bar area was relaxing and the staff kept us well supplied with Greek Frappe! Yummy! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in October 2006. The view from this hotel is magnificent. Although everyone says Oia is the place to watch the infamous sunsets, we enjoyed one sunset just as much on the hotel pool deck with a bottle of wine. Our room was large, clean, and adequate...the mattress was certainly firm but we found that to be the case in the other Greek hotels we stayed in as well. The staff picked my husband and I up from the port and took us to the hotel. Yannis pointed out landmarks and gave us helpful directions on the way to the hotel. Andreas carried our luggage to our beautiful room, and we were greeted with champagne. Yannis helped us plan our days in Santorini. The room was by far one of the cleanest I've seen in all of my travels and had so much character. Our view of the crater was unsurpassable. We recently stayed at El Greco for 1 week as part of our Honeymoon. On arrival we were greeted by polite and friendly staff and alloacted our room within seconds. We did see the hotel staff not as friendly with other guests but if you speak to pople like dirt - expect the same back!! Room itself was spot on - we asked for an upstairs room and were given one. the hotel design is very cutting edge, and beautiful. the pool, the location, the service and the reverse view 1 minute walk from the caldera, shopping buses and taxis. the gym is also good but you need someone to explain the new equipment. the rooms are a little small. - Martin

We started our Greece trip in Heraklion, Crete, and then took the ferry to Fira, Santorini. We were welcomed at the harbor by Fanes, the owner of Aroma Suites, who drove us back to his hotel. This made our arrival very simple in that we didn't have to worry about figuring out how to get from the harbor up to Fira, which is a distance by car. our stay in AMS was a highlight of our trip. The location of the hotel is perfect; it is right in the middle of the main strip in Fira, right next to a bus station and the views are amaizing. The rooms are large and very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very well prepared with some variety and was brought every morning to the private balcony. The owner of the hotel are really nice and gave some tips on good restaurants and day trips. Overall this hotel is worth the m - Roy
