Athens Hotels

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel from 27-30 October in a twin Executive room including breakfast and am delighted to say that it really lived up to expectations; and looked exactly like the one on the hotel website. The room was spotless, tastefully furnished and extremely comfortable. We had a balcony which opened to overlook the swimming pool. The bathroom was large and had a superb shower. An excellent location just off Syntagma Square and a 10 minute walk from Plaka, the Acropolis Museum, the Acropolis proper and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Bright zany reception, very helpful staff, really outstanding breakfast catering for everyone - English, American, Continental and Greek - so you can eat four breakfasts if that's your bag. We stayed at the Acropolis Museum Boutique Hotel for nearly a week and were immensely impressed with their excellent customer service (kudos to Susie Minas, Donna and the bar lady whom we sadly forgot to ask the name of!). Although the hotel lacks some of the amenities of the larger hotels (i.e., swimming pool, fitness facilities, full-service restaurant), it more than makes up for it with its cozy, neat and comfortable interiors and very attentive staff. I had such a wonderful experience in staying @ the Eridanus Hotel that I didn't know how to begin in writing this review. This is by far the best hotel during my stay in Greece. The hotel was able to provide us with an early check-in because We came in to Athens from an early flight from Santorini. They have also upgraded us to a luxurious room with a balcony facing the Acropolis. The room (especially the bathroom) and the view was absolutely magnificant. We stayed at the Grande Bretagne in July of 2006. After our stay in the islands, we wanted a quick stay in Athens before we headed back to the U.S. My husband and I are extremely seasonsed travelers. We have stayed all over the world in luxury (and at times no so luxury depending on where we were) hotels. This hotel was one of my favorites. It was truly "old world" luxury and elegence. I spent 2 nights at Arion Resort and Spa with several of my friends, and we had a great stay. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to Athens, you will not be disappointed with the rooms or the service. The rooms are clean & spacious, though the beds are on the small side. We had a nice room overlooking the water. We ate at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. The buffet has a great selection of foods, and is ~ 20 Euros per person. We went to the gym once, and it was pretty nice. - David

This was a perfect place for us to stay in Athens. We could walk to all the sites we wanted to see and the view of the Acropolis is just outstanding. The hotel was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and the staff were all friendly. Based on other reviews I was a bit concerned about the noise, but we found it completely peaceful. On Friday night there were a few partiers in Mitropoli square as late as 10 PM, but that really wasn't a conern. - Patrick

I visited Athens for the fourth time this past August with my husband and two teenage daughters. Because of amazing airfares, we decided to do a budget excursion to Athens and Naxos. My husband and I, and two teenage daughters stayed in two budget internal rooms for $150 a night per room. These rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet- I will definitely stay here the next time I travel to Athens. Visited Athens on a family trip cultural trip due the new Acropolis museum.The hotel is perfectly located next to subway so after three stops we were right in the museum. Actually we rarely used our car ( the hotel has a parking so it was not well kept ) and we hanged around by subway. Travelling with two children I had some questions about the location but it was totally safe day and night. Not different than any other central hotel anywhere in the world.
