Oia Hotels

In the stunning village of Oia, Aspa Villas is no doubt a Top 5 place for budget-minded travelers in search of a clean and charming room. Some of the rooms have spectacular views of both the Aegean Sea and Caldera, others do not. Best to inquire which is which before you go - if it matters. I chose this hotel based on the LetsBookHotel reviews. So many hotels in Santorini got scathing reviews, that I was a little put off, until I found that everyone had good things to say about Aethrio. AND it was affordable. I loved the hotel. If you're looking for something hanging off the side of the cliff, with a pool perched precariously over the ocean, this isn't the place. We stayed here for a week and it really made our holiday - we loved the friendliness of Irini, who always greeted us with a smile in the morning. The breakfast was varied and served to our balcony each morning and was really tasty esp the cheese toasties and frappacino! The accomodation was quite quiet, the pool we had to ourselves a lot of the time and it was great to be able to dip in after a long day out in the sun. I had booked the Opal house but upon arrival was upgraded to the Topaz house Pros 1. The views from this hotel are unbelievable, its ridiculously beautiful to just sit in the balcony and look at the magnificient sea. 2. The staff is very friendly and helpful (except for the lady who manages the property from 4PM onwards, who is distinctly useless and unhelpful) 3. This was a very good hotel with views that can't be beat! Staff picked us up at the airport on Santorini and drove us to Oia's bus square where we were met by more staff - all there to help us with luggage down the winding steps along the cliff to the hotel. We stayed in room number 10, which unlike some rooms, has a privat little balconey in addition to the patio we shared with the two other rooms on that level.
