Chania Hotels

We spent 3 nights at the P.V. and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are clean and serviceable, although the ambiance is a bit motel-ish, of good size by European standards with reasonable closet space. The bathroom was small, clean, with a shower only. The balcony was alsy tiny, barely room for a small table & 2 chairs, but offered a wonderful view of the harbor, marina and lighthouse - very pleasant to watch the sunset from here, on the one clear evening we had! We have visited this hotel nearly every year for the past ten years. A warm and friendly reception is guaranteed from the owner Georgia and staff. The hotel rooms and grounds are kept very clean. There is only a typical greek buffet breakfast on offer,consisting of yogurt,fruit ,bread, cheeses and cold meats along with Cretan honey, but this is all we want as the hundreds of Greek restaurants in Chania town centre are only minutes away. We got a last minute deal last year and was well worth it.. These appartments are good fun,, i stayed with my boyfriend, there was alot of single groups but you just have to join in with them and enjoy the holiday... The appartments are on a very steep hill,,,, so hiring quad bikes was good idea... The food in the appartments is nice, especially breakfast... The bar is quite good, before you go down to hersonissis.. Staff are friendly/... Dont stay here if you want a relaxing holiday, or y - Dennis

My wife and I arrived in Chania a day early from Athens and found the hotel we booked was sold out. They arranged for us to stay at the Arkadi and we were very pleasantly surprised. For a budget hotel, the rooms & lobby were very clean. A double bed was two singles pushed together. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was large. The hotel is located within a 5 min. walk to the bus station and a 10 min. walk to the old Venetian Harbor and central market. - George

We spotted Madonna Studios last year in a quiet little side road in the old town of Chania, so this year we went back to stay. Best decision of the holiday! On the basis of its location and accommodation alone, I cannot recommend Madonna Studios highly enough. Literally 2 minutes walk from the harbour yet so quiet at night we were able to sleep with our windows open on to the street. Beautiful beaches out front, clean rooms, excellent breakfast, tavernikas with authentic greek food line the streets, within walking distance of old hania shopping market, very reasonable prices compared to most places in that area, excellent service, dependable and honest family owned business, and great views from rooms! Our party of three women had a room for three reserved. In some hotels that means a third bed squeezed into the room. We were shocked to find out how huge the room was, even had a loft with the third bed. We were appreciative of the high quality of restortion to the building, it seemed that every detail had been considered. Also a nice surprise was the clothes drying rack on the sun roof area, a treat for people who have been traveling and need to wash out something. It is in the old city, bu - Clive
