  The staff were excellent, very friendly and great service. We had dinner on one occasion and breakfast on both mornings of our stay at the hotel and all three meals wee superb. - easy to get to , facilities were very good. staff were very helpful as one of the 2 rooms booked did not get to the hotel system. It was remedied with no fuss or problem

  Unsure about booking after reading some reviews, but chose the hotel because of the location to the CIA. Worries were unfounded. Room was comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Maybe a little warm but a fan was provided.   The Elgano exceeded all expectations. My stay was on a weekend when the Welsh rugby team were playing so it was a busy weekend in the City centre. I arrived at 7.30pm on Saturday and even though I arrived at what seemed a busy time in their restaurant/bar I was greeted with a hello by smiling and courteous members of staff and checked in promptly.... what people say » The main course meals looked fantastic as a table of ten were just being served in their near full restaurant. Immediately I thought the hotel was - I really loved this hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly, rooms were clean and cosy. The hotel is located 15 minutes walk from the university and from the city center, so you can walk everywhere (except for Cardiff Bay, that's a bit further away but there's regular train service in the city).   Fantastic, well appointed accommodation. We were lucky enough to have a south-west facing apartment overlooking the river and enjoyed each evening with a bottle of wine on the balcony. We didn't get chance to enjoy the leisure facilities but they looked very good. - Cardiff is such a small city by square miles that really any location is a good location. Our apartment was a 5 minute walk to Mermaid Quay which is very family friendly yet also accommodates a young nightlife. We walked over their both nights and found many options to eat and drink at. Overall the apartment was in good condition and our contact person was very responsive to emails and phone calls.

  Great location, good price, friendly staff, great leisure facilities,lovely modern room with some character. Didn't eat here so cannotcomment about food but menu and bar looked good. - Staff were welcoming, helpful and the food was fantastic and above all the bed was really comfortable. Would heartily recommend.
