What people say
The Hotel was clean. The food was very good and the staff were very friendly. We had a problem with a DVD player in our room which was dealt with in a professional manner and when a replacement could not be found at short notice we were upgraded free of charge. Pretty much everything. The rooms were very clean, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was right next to the train station, and it was truly one of the best four star hotels I have ever stayed in.all reviews »
Postion, room service. Traditional breakfast cooked to order within minutes and piping hot. Helpful lady manager and receptionist -good advice!. The hotel and its staff ticked every box in terms of quality and service. Breakfast was the best I can remember. The decoration in the rooms was excellent - high quality finish. The breakfast was truly srumptious. the room was clean perfectly and had all we need it. We had a dvd player .that was great. I liked the gym and steam room. It had a sauna but it wasn't workingwhen I was there :(. The comfort of the room and locality of the hotel.old-fashioned comfort but in a modern setting. The size of the room, the comfort of the room. comfortable, food good,Ideal location. Excellent accomodation (surprisingly). Was a really lovely hotel. Central to the city. Facilities. The room. Excellent location if travelling by train. Staff very polite and helpful. Good choice of cooked or continental breakfasts, quality of cooked food was very good. Centre of town, easy access, parking close by. Surprisingly quiet at night. Excellent room service food - piping hot.The breakfast was lovely and they had a very good selection of food. The staff were helpfull and the rooms clean. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing, excellent breakfast.staff were extremely helpful and breakfast as good. Excellent staff and excellent value for money. The staff were very helpful. Use of the Spa Rooms Etc. location, cleanliness. We had a problem with one room (no heat and telephone not working) and we needed to have 2 rooms on the same floor. Even with this complication the staff were excellent in resolving the problem. Very enjoyable stopover and would use again.Location is perfect for Swansea City centre. Good quality room and staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff especially the on duty receptionist who was polite friendly and very helpful excellent central location. Good location, nice staff, very comfortable rooms, good restaurant (excellent breakfast). Staff were very helpful in their advice on how tp proceed to my final destination. it was very well done out look very modern with touch of class very nice hotel. The kindness of your staff and the care for cleaning. Friendliness, cleanliness, able to relax. Excellent room and excellent breakfast. Comfort, good fittings and furniture. friendly, clean and good position. Staff were extremely friendly. Central to town centre. Location. the staff were extremely courteous and helpful. There was a good selection of breakfast foods which were on the whole good although the scrambled egg, although edible, tasted a bit odd. We had dinner once in the hotel - it was excellent.Staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were in a large group which perhaps detracted from the enjoyment of other people's stay. It would be a shame if hotel were marked down for that reason by others. We booked three executive rooms but one of them was upgraded to a penthouse room with a jacuzzi on the balcony it was wonderful had a great evening sitting in the jacuzzi with our drinky poos........the efforts of the reception staff to find accomodation for friends who arrived unexpectedly and found the hotel full. The service of the staff in the resturant was also very good. We were met by a very friendly receptionist which set the standard as all the other staff were equally friendly. As we travelled by train, the location could not have been better.pool althougth didn't think it fair to have to pay extra for facilities. I enjoyed the food and thought the staff were very friendly.room bathroom clean fresh and in good comfortable condition. close proximity to station and value for money. I liked everything about this hotel. I stay in hotels all over the world and would stay here again. Air conditioning is controlled from reception and the windows son't open. I like lots of fresh air in my room and so found the room too warm/stuffy sometimes. the last night there were few drunk people having an argument in the coridor for more then 15 min at 4.55 am , That want plesant at all. Dinner was only served until 9pm and it's says in the Grand Hotel Bookin the rooms, that it's open to 9:30pm. The Bistro Bar only served until9pm on the night I stayed and it should have been serving until 10pmaccording to reception. I went without eating. I put the breakfast cardon the back of my door in the evening before, for breakfast to be servedin my room and the card was not collected.A minor disruption: Air conditioning vent next to my table failed whilst I was eating my breakfast and I had to suggest they put a pan to collect the dripping water. Despite the young lady reporting the issue, I didn't see anyone come to try and fix it!. The stairs were closed for maintenance and I had to use the lift...not good for the keep fit!. the warm air central heating svystem was the only negative thing about the hotel, very . Only 30 minutes free wi-fi is behind the standards of comparable hotels. The room was too hot as was the rest of the hotel. We had to leave the hotel early every morning because of the heat. Expected a bed that was larger than a double bed. The award winning retaurant was closed, but we had not been informed of this prior to arrival. reserved a table for dinner and was dissappointed with the food. The bedroom was far too hot at night. I want to be able to have a cool room without putting on the air conditioning because of the noise. the in room thermostat was not yet working but looked as if it was: this wasted a lot of time, but was rectified when I spoke to staff at reception. Minor problem with error on bill (room service item added to my room's account in error) - but reception staff corrected this promptly. The evening meal service was a little slow.No car parking. Noisey Guests 1st Night. Poor Car Parking. we did go to breakfast quite late 9.40a.m. it should not have finished until 10.00, but there was not much left to eat. The resturant closed at a far too early time at night even though the times are clearly stated in the room literature, four friends who were residents were turned away 5 minutes too late. I know that there has to be a cut off point but it would not have happened in most European hotels where the chef was still cooking and others had not yet placed there orders.Noise from traffic outside. But we did not hear any noise from other guests. I thought the room was a bit small for my liking.cost of parking car bar closed early although the porter would get you a drink if requested. noisey air con in bedrom.
