Hotel is conveniently located and so easy to move around the city and nearby. Old Town Trolley, which is a convenient way to go to the different attractions, stops right near the hotel side entrance. Driveway, lobby, room and bathroom are all very spacious. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Our room was available upon arrival at around half past 11 in the morning and we appreciated this very much. The hotel has taken steps to be eco-friendly which is admirable.

  The size of this resort hotel was much larger than I expected with a lot of nice amenities (restaurants, etc.) on grounds that we did not use (but would in the future). Our room was nice, comfortable, and clean. I thought the room & hotel were nicely decorated, other than the creepy doll painting in our room (landscape is better, no eyes). And so beautiful! We lived in a room with to large queen size. It was very spacious and a bit old fashioned. But in a good way. It was close to a big mall, which we really approved. We didn't have breakfast included, but there is a nice café in the area (the hotel is in a very big area and has a lot of rooms all over the place) that had good sandwiches and Starbuck coffee.

  Loved our stay. We live only about 30 mins. north of San Diego and try to stay at the West Gate at least twice a year. It is like being on a vacation even though we are residents.   We had a wonderful time staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, San Diego recently from March 11 to 14. The facilities were excellent. Our bedroom was nice and the bed was comfortable, and coffee making was provided. The pool and hot tub facilities were clean and comfortable, especially the large hot tub which can take 14. They have a ‘happy hour’ service with reduced drink prices between 5 and 7; and the food was excellent and freshly cooked, with nice hot veg - Location was excellent!. Room was clean. We opted not to get room clean on second day stay and got $5 coupon to use at one of their restaurants. Service was great. We requested clean towels on second day and were brought up quickly. If you need something for room, just call and ask. Friendly staff. Got $5 coupons for each member (5) towards San Diego zoo. Could get noisy due to it being family friendly but that is expected. Close to restaurants.
