  Located in Central la on Melrose which is a busy street but less than fi Hollywood Blvd or Highland or any of the big thoroughfares and keeping in mind that it's an old hotel, they're taking good care of it. It's practically across the street from Paramount Pictures, it's within walking distance of Hollywood blvd/Sun - Pros I was able to check in early. Jonah at the front desk was very helpful. The decor is fantastic. The old elevators are really cool. The bed was very comfortable and the air cond worked great. Close to many Hollywood spots and plenty of free parking. The hotel has the look as the type of place a 1920's gangster would stay in it's really cool. Cons A bit pricy 137.00 for the night. No phone in the room. The room is small as is the bathroom.   I really liked this hostel, the workers are super friendly, the place has 24-hour security with a buzz-in door, I felt relatively safe, the location is unbelievably great - right opposite the skate park.   Location couldn't be any better near the airport. It is located in the middle of all the car rentals. We took the free shuttle to dollar rental cars and picked up our car there, from there it was in the same block. ( you can jump on this shuttle even if you didn't rent a car there. All other sights of la like downtown, Hollywood, Beverly hills or ... what people say » the beaches are reachable by car, not really by public transport. It really is a place to stay the first and last night before and after flighing. Roo - We were extremely satisfied with the location of he super 8, near the la airport, he friendly attitude of he front desk staff, the size of he room, 24 hrs coffee service near the front desk, the breakfast from 0600 hrs onwards, he shuttle bus service ho he airport. Further he nearness to he rental car pickup around he corner. I could continue the positive aspects of this motel, like he qualityof he bed, the real supply of hot water etc. etc. I have travelled he world for more then 50 years but

Good size rooms and good value for money. This was our second stay and would stay there again.
