  Located in Central la on Melrose which is a busy street but less than fi Hollywood Blvd or Highland or any of the big thoroughfares and keeping in mind that it's an old hotel, they're taking good care of it. While I was there, some rooms were furnished with new carpetting, hallways were being painted and new carpetting put down in the hallways all... wat mensen zeggen » without too much bother to the guests. It's practically across the street from Paramount Pictures, it's within walking distance of Hollywood blvd/Sun - Pros I was able to check in early. Jonah at the front desk was very helpful. The decor is fantastic. The old elevators are really cool. The bed was very comfortable and the air cond worked great. Close to many Hollywood spots and plenty of free parking. The hotel has the look as the type of place a 1920's gangster would stay in it's really cool. Cons A bit pricy 137.00 for the night. No phone in the room. The room is small as is the bathroom.   I really liked this hostel, the workers are super friendly, the place has 24-hour security with a buzz-in door, I felt relatively safe, the location is unbelievably great - right opposite the skate park. I met a lot of locals whilst staying here, I would stay here again and it's worth paying more for a private room for a few days stay. - I loved ... wat mensen zeggen » the location, soon as you walk out the door you've got the beach, friendly people, Art, performers, food places, bars. The staff are awesome too!! Met so many lovely people from all over the world, learnt alot from staying there. Activities organised for hostelers were great too, like Club Hop, and bar hop etc..

  Location couldn't be any better near the airport. It is located in the middle of all the car rentals. We took the free shuttle to dollar rental cars and picked up our car there, from there it was in the same block. ( you can jump on this shuttle even if you didn't rent a car there. All other sights of la like downtown, Hollywood, Beverly hills or ... wat mensen zeggen » the beaches are reachable by car, not really by public transport. It really is a place to stay the first and last night before and after flighing. Roo - We were extremely satisfied with the location of he super 8, near the la airport, he friendly attitude of he front desk staff, the size of he room, 24 hrs coffee service near the front desk, the breakfast from 0600 hrs onwards, he shuttle bus service ho he airport. Further he nearness to he rental car pickup around he corner. I could continue the positive aspects of this motel, like he qualityof he bed, the real supply of hot water etc. etc. I have travelled he world for more then 50 years but

  While this hotel did not have the highest of star ratings by the industry, reviews from other travelers convinced me this was a place worth trying and I was not disappointed. The rooms were wonderfully clean and fresh. Bathroom very clean. The bed was comfortable and had good pillows. Neighbourhood was safe, there is a nice park and library just down the road and a seven elev - Good basic tourist hotel. Provided you are driving, very central to the whole LA area. A short walk to the trendy Grove shopping mall and the Farmers Market with its range of excellent, well priced mini restaurants. Easy on site parking and helpful friendly staff. Good size rooms and good value for money. This was our second stay and would stay there again.
