The hotel, while an older building, had been recently renovated and what
a pleasant surprise with all the character & artistic flair in the
room (and even the hallway!) The "wow" factor was definitely
there when we opened the door to the King suite. The room was a lovely
size, the bathroom huge, with great tilework and an awesome shower. We

I stayed here very recently for six nights while attending a conference downtown. Let me say it was totally worth the extra effort and cost in cabs to get downtown ( half hour by bus, 15 minutes 13 bucks by cab). The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, from the cleaning staff, valet parking attendants, front desk folks and management. I get the feeling people love their jobs and want to deliver good service to the guests. The bar downstairs is awesome and deserves its own review. On

I came to San Diego to attend a conference and visit. I was really
interested in a clean and safe location where I would literally just
sleep and shower. I loved that there was a cafe/diner right by- it
made breakfast easy. It was a great location- just a walk away from the
coast and the gaslamp. The staff were helpful. Also there was a nice

although the hotel was not what we expected it was okay considering we were just there to sleep. if you're looking for a cheap decent place to sleep this is the place. if you're looking for somewhere to be comfortable probably not the place for you. I'm a pretty easy going girl who have to get ready for Halloween party and this place was just ok for that.

Very good value for the money, with simple breakfast provided (including waffles!). No elevator to second floor and no whirlpool at the small swimming pool. Just across the street from historic Old Town with shopping, restaurants and museums. Nice 20 minute walk or jog up Presidio Hill, also basketball court, are across the street also.

The rooms were really nice and the beds were super comfortable. Staff was very friendly. The on-site gym was under repair during my visit but they provided guest aces to the YMCA gym just around the corner. ironically that was one of the highlights of my trip as the Y had one of the best retired weight rooms I have seen in a long time. -

Very comfortable accommodation, very helpful staff and super relaxing. Kids particularly liked the waffle makers, the cookies and the pool. On top of that we liked the 24/7 tea and coffee, the gym, the iced (cucumber was a nice touch) water, the spa and the wide variety of choice at breakfast, particularly the fruit salad. This hotel is very comfortable, well-appointed, clean and has excellent beds! The Hampton line of hotels are consistently excellent and the staff was wonderful as well...even calling to ensure everything was fine and recommended an excellent local pizza and pasta restaurant with free delivery for dinner when they found out we were just going to stay in for the night.

Location was excellent!. Room was clean. We opted not to get room clean on second day stay and got $5 coupon to use at one of their restaurants. Service was great. We requested clean towels on second day and were brought up quickly. If you need something for room, just call and ask. Friendly staff. Got $5 coupons for each member (5) towards San Diego zoo. Could get noisy due to it being family friendly but that is expected. Close to restaurants.
