I liked everything about it! It's almost like I don't want to say too much because I was so positively surprised by how we were taken care of. I've never had a better hotel experience (even at fancy places), and it felt like staying with a nice Greek family. FYI: don't get a taxi at the port, but look for the Hotel Grotta van, they pick you up. Or you can simply walk a little ways away from the ferry (we came by ferry) and look up to your left.   Brilliant base for exploring this fantastic island! Really convenient to get to from the port (5 mins walk - no hills!) and the beach at the end of the road is great for a swim anytime before you venture to the more exciting beaches on the outer coast of the island. Eleni and the other staff work really hard to provide information about the islan... what people say » d and organise excursions. We would definitely recommend the round Milos cruise on the Eleni boat which includes swimming stops in some amazing spots - Staying with Eleni is like staying with your mum, in a good way! She bakes pastries for breakfast and treats everyone wonderfully. She can advise you on restaurants and prices for car rentals and boat trips. You are behind a beach hotel, so the view is of the mountain and fields, but the beach is a couple of minutes away. The port and town is five minutes walk away and very convenient. We ran into people on another island who also sang Eleni's praises.

  The owner and manager of the hotel was extremely nice and professional. The hotel is very clean. The choice of furniture albeit classic and simple testifies of the good taste of this family run hotel . The breakfast on the side terrace of the hotel was a great experience not only for the view on Aegean sea but also for the quality of homemade ... what people say » jams! Last but not least the view from our room was wonderful since we could see through one window the port of Aigiali and through the other the spec - Theo who runs the hotel is the nicest : always a smile, a kind word or a piece of advice. He helped us a lot with his hiking maps. The room is very clean, everything is new and it is decorated in good taste. The breakfast is only 5€ if you stay at the hotel and very complete (Theo is a caterer in Athens during the winter...) and you can have it at your balcony or at a table facing the sea.   We have visited Naxos many times and this was our first time staying at the Illion Hotel. This is a family run hotel. The hotel owner was most helpful and courteous and did everything to make our stay the wonderful experience that it was. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean and the sheets and towels were changed daily. There was a beautiful range... what people say » of natural home prepared foods for breakfast every morning. The hotel is located within 30 seconds walk of the beach and 5 minutes walk of the town. - The hotel room was surprisingly clean and it felt like we were the first ones to stay in the room. All rooms have balconies with a side view of the sea and a front view of a small park. We were provided with clean towels every day and clean sheets every other day. There is a very neat and fully equipped kitchenette on each floor. The breakfast was very good, with various fresh delicacies prepared by the hotel owner. The Ag.   Lovely, pristine and clean room with plenty of space and fantastic facilities for self-catering and cooking. Well-equipped kitchen and large fridge with freezer.   Highly, highly recommended. A really great hotel situated one minute from the Beach. The Hotel is run by a lovely gentleman who could not have been more obliging. The rooms were nice and very clean, and the service excellent. And for the price, our stay was simply perfect.
